I laughed so hard I cried.
The headline alone just made my entire evening. Thank you. |

What is this?
They are trying way too hard to milk this Vocaloid franchise. |

Agreed. I do not really eat fried chicken but if she was selling, I would eat it right until they put me in my grave. Last edited by asimpson2006 on Wed Sep 28, 2011 6:27 am; edited 1 time in total |

Perhaps they're just trying to spice up their marketing.... |

The company sells fried chicken and has a singing/dancing mascot to help drum up sales? Is the logic there so offensive that it makes you need to become a hermit and relocate to another planet? |

If it was a fried chicken chain in the deep south I could see there being a problem with a singing and dancing mascot. ITS IN JAPAN! Sometimes a singing and dancing batch of pixels is sometimes just that. *sigh* some people see trouble everywhere...
I love this idea personally, its cute, its innovative and its engaging. We already are inundated with virtual mascots (Geico Gecco, yeah, I'm talking about you >>) but at least this will be one singing an original, crowd-sourced song. I await the first US company to take this idea stateside. WIN |

Apparently chicken (in this case fried) is completely relevant with anime?
Even though I personally don't eat fried chicken, does chicken really have anything to do with a Vocaloid? |

Do geckos have anything to do with car insurance(Geico)? Or clowns with hamburgers(McDonald's)? One thing I wonder is whose voicebank they are going to use or were they able to make their own? |

You've got a point there. But to be fair, the gecko isn't always those commercials, just some of them. And I suppose with clowns are associated with fairs and some fairs sell hamburgers, so I suppose that also makes sense as well. |

Gecko sounds like Geico. And who wouldn't take this Japanese ad McD clown? So, fried chicken is what Vocaloid is reduced to, eh? Here goes: There's barkin' at the kitchen Yellin' in the hall Ringin' at the door bell Poundin' on the wall Kids out a sight And kids in the way No time to cook on this hectic day Come on, come on, come on Get a bucket of chicken Finger lickin' good Have a barrel of fun Goodbye ho-hum Say hello to your family Come on everyone At LAWSON Fried Chicken Have a barrel of fun Last edited by enurtsol on Tue Sep 27, 2011 11:43 pm; edited 1 time in total |

And is the mascot for the store always in those commercials? I've never had a hamburger at a fair...elephant ears, hot dogs on a stick, chicken tenders, cotton candy. Most of the time when I think Fair food it comes on a stick. |

She seems more suited to selling ice cream. Must be the Baskin Robbins color scheme and her hair resembling two scoops.

No, the mascot for the store probably isn't in every commercial. I am not saying it entirely logical, but there is some, albeit not much. Most fair food does a stick, but it's possible there is a vendor that also sells hamburgers as well. I haven't been to a fair in more than a decade, so I don't really know if the food sold there has changed that much since then. |
