This price drop on the PS3 is good for those looking to get a blu-ray player. They can also play video games if they like as well as stream netflix. As for me, I already have both and the only one I regret buying is the PSP since soon after they announced they were releasing the Vita.

So then no rumored "PSThree" this year either.
Worth mentioning is that the $249 PS3 is the 160GB model, the 320GB model is now $299 according to Kotaku.
Because it's cheaper without it and you can always download PSP games, add ons, and updates using a PS3 or PC. A lot of people already have smart phones with better online connectivity than the PSP and ad-hoc game play isn't for everyone. It's a smart move. At least they didn't remove the UMD drive this time. $250 for the PS3? Sounds cool, but I still can't think of any games I would ever play on it.
I already have a PSP (3000 model) so the other news is nothing of interest for me. |

Good news for a friend of mine, this could finally move the PS3 down into her price range. I've had both for some time, so this really doesn't mean much for me. (Well, except to show that sony's pretty much abandoned the PSP in the US, since we're not even worth putting out the bargain-version system in. Which sucks.)

Does anyone know if this PSP will be region locked?

AFAIK, the PSP has never been region locked before so I don't know why they'd start now. |

Would have been better if they had removed the umd drive, it's completely useless and just drains battery ridiculously fast. And running iso's off a ms is like 5x faster anyway. Also how much is the psp 3000 in Europe right now lol? I mean 99 euros converted to usd is like 140 bucks, and i can get the psp 3000 with wifi for less than that.. |

Wow, I never really realized how much Europeans get screwed with consoles. Is it like that for all gaming as well? 250 USD in North America and 250 Euro/360 USD in Europe for the same system o_0

Got the PS3 on store sale for $110 not too long ago - don't really use it for games. PSP already modded to play SNES and PS1 games long time ago.
