AAAHHHHH I love Lia! Her work for Air and Clannad was simply stunning.

I absolutely love Lia's voice, but I detest Vocaloid.
I will never understand this fascination with synthetic voices. I get that the creators of the vocals have their effort invested and enjoy what they do, but I cannot fathom why someone would listen to a robotic voice. They have no natural pitch and the disjointed 'notes' somewhat-strung together is jarring.
Especially when something as wonderful as Lia's enchanting singing exists <3

Probably mostly because of the character designs. Thats all I pretty much care about with vocaloid is the designs. There are one or two songs though that I think pull of the robotic tone very well where I like the songs very much.

I too m a huge Lia fan from all her works I own a few of her trance CDs too ^-^. I hope she is able to do a vocal for Rewrite <3.
As for vocaloid. I really loved it in 08-09. I'm more of a fan of the voices being used in stuff like Levan polka and so on. I'm not much of a fan of the voices used to sing full length songs unless it works. I'm just excited Carnelian is doing some designs and then there is Eri and Lia. want to see results!

Domo arigato Mr. Roboto! Domo! Domo!
They should make a Vocaloid plugin that allows us to make our own voice libraries ourselves! My voice would sound so wonderful in my own projects! All I've to do is fill in the syllabubbles!

Lia won't sing your songs with your lyrics, when you want it and how.

I will never understand this fascination with human voices. I get that the singers have their effort invested and enjoy what they do, but I cannot fathom why someone would listen to a human voice. They are so limited in range and their inability to tune their vocals with special effect is jarring.

There, corrected for you
I hope you do understand that ultimately there's no good or bad when it come to arts and "the beauty is in the ear of the listener". I could have replaced Miku with any other Vocaloid or any singer in a very specific genre far away from J-pop or whatever music Lia is singing and it would have changed nothing to the principle. I personally also like Gregorian choirs, but will not have a rant because some people prefer the voice of a J-pop singer. To be honest I'm quite surprised that people in anime (a genre that as been and is still decried as a cheap or sub-par culture) could react like this and not be more open-minded...

For me, it's not about the voices of the Vocaloids themselves, it's the doujin aspect of it. The Vocaloid community is an incredibly creative one. I'm a fan of amateur/indie music and on Niconico Douga most of that features a Vocaloid.
Also, this article spelled Ring and Lui's names wrong http://www.vocaloidism.com/2011/05/31/ringu-suzune-and-rui-hibiki-two-new-vocaloids/

Except human singers are not limited in range.
But I suppose if someone has to lie to back-up their point it says something about their stance.
As far as special effects, that is correct. They do not sound like robots.

Im not big into Vocaloid either, but honestly the quality of the song you get out of it is directly related to how much effort you put into tweaking the song.
There is a lot of fine-tuning you can do with the pitch etc. to make them sound a lot more realistic. They can do vibratto to some extent, breath sounds between syllables, etc. It's just that a lot of people don't put that much effort in so they sound a lot more robotic then.

Love them both...Eri not much as a singer but she's a very diverse voice actress, one of my favorites ...but Lia's vocaloid will be far from her real voice's awesomeness.

Just auto-tune everything, like everyone else!
It'll be easier on a digital vocaloid.
