On a "fast track," huh? I'll believe it when I see it.

If the director walks away, isn't that like the kiss of death??

Even with the director I really doubt this movie was ever on a "fast track" lol.

Justin Timberlake, putting that sissy-boy in a film like Akira is instant fail. Nothing else is half as stupid as that.

Except the very idea of an american Akira live-action film.

Fast track to the rusty siding inside the scrap yard, me thinks. It was a miscarriage to begin with. Rolling Eyes

This is on the fast track, I wonder if they are going to put it with that supposed Battle Angel movie as well. Laughing

"Creative differences" is Hollywood talk for "somebody didn't want to go there."

It would be unwise to raise our hopes prematurely. This project was once "as dead as a doornail" according to an insider, only to be subsequently revived.

I persoally have no objections to live action adaptations of anime or manga depending on how the film is executed. Personally the project should have been done in japan first then in the USA. However that being the case the powers that being should take there time and not botch the job (like what happened to the dragon ball movie).
P.S.
Any updates in regards to the Gundam seed movie?

Has anything good really come out of these Hollywood live action conversions? If you're a devotee of the original all they do is leave a bad taste in your mouth. It will just be a CG laden post apocalyptic "Escape from New York".
Localizing it just removes it's uniquely Japanese spin on the subject. That's one of reasons I watch anime to begin with.
I personally will be glad if it gets put put back in storage and never sees the light of day again.

Eh...some things are just not meant to have a LA adaption. Especially if they are wanting to cast people like Justin Timberlake in it. Neutral

Justin Timberlake should just stick to music. And SNL.

Justin Timberlake is pretty far from the terrible actor that you all make him out to be.

I will admit I don't like Justin Timberlake, but he is a damn good actor surprisingly. I just don't think he'd fit a movie like Akira.
