Nice to have confirmation on this. Being that they are trying to put in new content, I'll buy this in the Fall.

No doubt we will get Dragon Ball RB 2 this winter,
However...I highly doubt they will include it for the US Version because this news just came out of the blue. I'm sure Funimation want to work on the extra dub for this episode. But it ultimately determines if Bandai Namco will get this or not (70% sure they won't). I mean remember back then when they did that Limited Edition for one of the Dragon Ball Z Budokai Games ( I think # 3), they had so many copies at the media play stores that it was insane... |

Man, I'm not really into fighting games, but this animated feature is enough to make this game an exception. It also makes me wish if the people at Toei weren't being stingy and actually remade the animation for Dragon Ball Kai.

Why would they bother to reanimate everything. It's only 100 episodes series remake. Majority of the people won't watch it. The show is only milk. I don't watch it. I can do the same, by just skipping episodes on my DVD sets.

Did you actually read the article? Because I don't think you did. This has nothing to do with DB Kai. This is a reanimation of an old Dragonball Z FMV game/OVA from the 90's. |

Well, if you all remember, Bandai Namco/Viz Media didn't dub the OVA that was on Naruto Ultimate Ninja 3 for PS2. The OVA was basically an episode giving the player hints on what to do in the adventure mode (or whatever it was called) in the game. The episode was crap by itself but at least you got a OVA with the original game!
That aside, I can predict this being the same case. Bandai Namco will probably ask Funimation if they want to do it and they will be like: "LOL NO thanks" and people will be forced to watch the OVA elsewhere and wait for some lone person or group to sub it (which happened to the Naruto OVA). If Funi dubs it, I'll really be shocked. I'd even be happy with a sub only OVA on the disc if they bother bringing it over. |

If they do release it, it will probably be like the FMA OVA Collection and sold for under $15. I was surprised myself when they released that. ^^ Also, it would be nice to put the 2008 DBZ special on the same DVD... |

Do you follow the Japan TV Ranking news on ANN? Dragon Ball Kai has always been in the top five of the highest rated/watched anime in Japan, which is something the majority of the new anime couldn't acheive. This popularity and therefore, profit, totally warrant a remake of the animation instead of going the cheap way and cutting and pasting the old footage. I personally would've bothered to invest in the Kai DVDs if that were the case. |

I already have Budokai Tenkaichi 3, which has a ton of characters, so i'm not really interested in Raging Blast 2 unless the US version has the OVA as well. Although I agree with the earlier post, I'd rather have it and Yo! Son Goku and his Friends Return in one normal release. It'd just be nicer, I think.

So basically, the breakdown is gonna be like:
1. 5 minutes of grandstanding and BSing. 2. 12 minutes of the main character(s) trying to "Power up." 3. 3 minutes of slow-motion attacks trying to connect. 4. 7 minutes of some characters slow-motion DEATH. 5. 3 minutes of more grandstanding and BSing. 6. Oh, and they're still on Namek. The entire time. |

True story; Scamco brought over the .hack OVAs in their games. But as Viz and Namco Bandai are both pretty crummy companies it's no surprise they scammed Naruto fans. But, the major difference between Naruto and DragonBall (besides the fact the second is tonnes more popular than the first) is the fanbases and their wants. Naruto fans are younger and don't really care if something gets released in North America because they can get their hands on it via other means. DragonBall fans tend to not be that way. There's a lot of people who've yet to see the Jump Anime Tour Special because it hasn't been released in North America, despite the fact it was legally streaming on the Jump Anime Tour website in English (subtitles). There's also a lot more desire for new DragonBall animation than there is for Naruto animation. Before the 2008 special, and this remake, the last bit of full on new animation this franchise recieved was in 1997 (I don't count Kai, attraction crossovers or the video game openings). |

wow way to be stuck in the 90's with those lame jokes. and since when did dbz have "slow motion attacks trying to connect"? they fight VERY fast and punches always land, this isn't the matrix. Geez.... |
