READ OR DIE?! OMG I AM SO THERE.

I really, REALLY wanted FUNi to get Durarara, but I am happy it's getting a dub. Hopefully it'll be a decent dub, and the prices will be a bit more reasonable, but the fact it's getting a dub makes me very happy.

Mmm, here's hopes they'll be announcing Angel Beats! at Otakon then.

Total shot in the dark of course, but I'm hopin'.

In the meantime, anyone who has 'not' seen R.O.D. the TV no longer has an excuse to 'not' watch it.

21:21:18 <bay> You will hear the annoucnement quite soon
21:21:23 <bay> but I can't say any further at this point

I didn't think Someone Else would bring Working!! stateside.

Still though, that would be a pretty quick release if they announce it say, at a Otakon.

Pricing for Durarara will be interesting. I will likely buy it no matter the price, but I know a lot of people will not.

That isn't 'pretty much confirmed' at all. That's "maybe", from someone with a non-perfect grasp of English.

So, "Durarara" literally translated means "Working"?? Interesting; thanks for the Japanese lesson. Razz

Well, i'm 2-2 in distributors picking animes I predicted them to pick up (DTB2 and Shana to Funi, K-ON to Bandai), so I hope to go 3-3 with me saying that Angel Beats goes to Bandai as well.

A little interested in Durarara, but I understand I'll need to see Baccano first. Also, glad for Aniplex putting ROD the TV on their Youtube channel. It's good to see another anime out there for people to watch without dropping $300+ for it.

I'm looking at YOU, Utena, and thanking Nozomi for picking you up, dusting you off, and making you reasonable again.

Crossing my fingers in advance for Sailor Moon next year.

Not really, but you might want to check out Baccano! for the sheer over-the-top crazy goodness. The only downside is that if you do, Durarara!! might not seem quite as good in comparison (but then, not much does). Wink

Well this explains (to me anyway) why nobody else picked up the license for Durarara!! sooner. I had wondered why Funi hadn't gotten it yet since they released Baccano!! I hope Aniplex follows in NIS America's footsteps and sell their DVD's through well known online retailers instead of just their own website and at cons.

This article is giving me high hopes for the future of Aniplex USA. So far the titles that they have gotten are all things that I like and I have a feeling that they are going to have an interesting future of quality releases and good shows. Plus their strong ties with an actual Japanese parent company will let them do more with the releases. I base this claim off my previous enjoyment from Japanese backed anime distributors like Bandai and Geneon who tend to have quality products (in my opinion). My only hope is that they don't suffer from the delusion that Geneon had and think that they can price box sets at 100+ dollars. If their able to adapt to the American market well I think they could quickly expand and become a major player in the American anime market.

I'm glad their going to be showing R.O.D. the TV (hopefully with the dub)!

That is one show that I constantly tell people that they need to check out...and now with it being free to watch, there's no reason not to!
