Gyah, I am crying in my heart right now because I only have money right now for one handheld game: Puzzle Quest 2, Persona 3 PSP, or Dragon Quest 9.
So, I'm still addicted to Puzzle Quest 1 and P3PSP is kinda just a remake so DQ9 wins but it saddens me that I'm not buying a slight update of a game I already own. On second thought that sounds ridiculous but I'm not less sad.

Level-5 is making a game on a system I still actually play? As long as it doesn't come out in the neighborhood of Pokemon B&W, I might consider buying it.

Ni no Kuni: The Another World: Oh my god! I must have this title! It's looks so good. They have really got that cel shading down. Plus it's got Ghibli animations. Sold.

Todd: Yeah I would suspect one of those Arksys guys have some pent up fetish for the rescue rangers. The characters they come up with are wild.

Actually the current speculation for Continuum Shift's DLC characters are Valkenhayn and one character that's new to CS, Platina the Trinity. It's expected that Platina's going to be somewhat of a magical girl, a loli with a giant heart staff.

And Toshimichi Mori has stated that Jubei and Kokonoe are NOT a possiblilty as playable characters, at least for this installment. Sorry guys.

Well, Jubei is just too strong in canon. Kokonoe is also that much of a fighter anyway. I am interested in the new characters, plus it's nice seeing a fighting game fiddling around with significant DLC.

While Nintendo has "confirmed" that Xenoblade will be getting a NA release. I'm somewhat pessimistic about that. Xenoblade was released in Japan a good week before E3, and yet Nintendo didn't have anything on display for it, not a demo, no trailers, nothing. The only time I ever saw it mentioned at E3 was news articles going "Where'd Xenoblade go?". You think Nintendo would want to hype up a big RPG release on the Wii, something which has sorely been lacking. But I guess not.

If I don't hear anything by the end of the year, I'm just going to go out on a limb and say NoA decided to give it the ol' Disaster: DoC treatment and I'll import the game.

I've always wanted to get into the Atelier universe but their games only seem to come out on consoles I don't own. Back in the day I bought one of the Atelier games for Dreamcast along with other Dreamcast games I've been wanting to play, but never got around to actually buying a Dreamcast. I've been interested in playing Atelier Rorona as well as the new one (I love the character designs and visuals), but I don't know if I'll ever end up getting a PS3. Plus I would need to wait until an English version is released. Gaming with only a broken Japanese reading ability really cuts down on the enjoyment.

Yet Portable brings more changes, and the most obvious one is right there on the cover: players can go through the game as either the original Persona 3's long-banged schoolboy or Portable's all-new heroine. Her story, her Persona, and her choices in dating are largely different from the male-centric tone of the original Persona 3.

Is "put out" one of the new choices? Laughing
(As opposed to "put it in.")

It's kinda odd there was no mention of Xenoblade nor The Last Story. Then again, they did announce a whole slew of stuff to the point they didn't even bother explaining what's the deal with the Vitality Sensor.

Speaking of Level 5, apparently Inazuma Eleven is also heading to Wii. And I'm still sort of split on the PS3 battle system of Ni no Kuni versus the one they have on the DS (they make you draw runes where you consult a 365 page book included with purchase of game).

Ni No Kuni is one of those games I sort of wish I was more excited about. The setting and characters just seem very generic to me, with nothing we haven't already seen a million times before in JRPGs. I would have expected something more creative out of both Studio Ghibli and Level 5.

On the other hand, it has a FFVII style world map with little mini cities and monster encounters that go "FWOOSH" when you start them, so I guess I have to buy the game.

What was so bad about Baten Kaitos? I loved that game-the battle system was amazing. I wish there were more like it.

The plotline for the first game was outrageously cliche and the voice acting was terrible. Aside from that it was fantastic. The sequel kind of muddied up the battle system and made it very easy, although it had much improved voice acting and the story was pretty interesting.

As for P3P, I don't mind that they took out the epilogue. Aside from revealing the pasts of the main characters it wasn't very good, with massive amounts of grinding and the lack of a compendium. Besides, the new costumes and protagonist totally make the main game worth another go.

I'd like to see Valkenhayn and Jubei (Kokonoe is on the top of my list actually) but I am not crazy about the idea of spending $8 per character on a game that will probably be rendered obsolete by a new arcade release in about nine months. I put a lot of time into Calamity Trigger and I'll certainly buy this, but stuff like $5 color packs is a straight ripoff.

Oh I like the look of that 999: 9 Hours, 9 People, 9 Doors. Though it sounds totally predictable ... I'm a sucker for puzzle games.

Though talking about 999 - I'm excited as well for the new Galaxy Express 999 DS game. But highly unlikely it will EVER hit US stores. God no.
(Though I'm guessing that "999 is the first of them on track" wasn't a pun)

Booyah! Yes for PS3 Ghibi game. Not that I have a PS3, but others do and that is an oven invitation in my books. If it gets release in English. If.

I take character DLC as a sign that BBCS will NOT be rendered obsolete in about 9 months. Since they're supposed to be patching it 6 months from now, along with the arcade version, I'd bet we'll be waiting twice as long for the third version.
