WHOA, we actually have something from Yuri Hime (well from S) getting an anime!
Granted from Ichijinsha's Yuri Hime S website, Yuruyuri is pretty the one title that's constantly being pimped out (hell they even have their own page). Hopefully more Yuri Hime titles gets adapted in the future if this succeeds. |

Seriously... of all the Yuri Hime/Yuri Hime S series they had to animate the only one with almost no yuri content...
90% of the anime series that air normally have more yuri content than Yuru "Yuri". |

Ehhhh, don't get too high expectations of any canonized amount of yuri content out of this which is utterly ironic if you ask me. This is seriously more like your usual slice-of-life bishoujo moe comedy series in vein say Hidamari Sketch. Of course this begs several questions on what the freakin' HELL Japanese male otaku want in their idealized yuri series; supposedly this is one of the most popular title in all of Yuri Hime S. |

Yuri Hime S isn't a shoujo mag? Does this show at least have subtext? Doesn't "S" in general mean school-age subtext that never goes anywhere ala Marimite?

Yuri Hime S is aimed for guys, and most of the content mostly involves with bishoujo moe girls (there are a few exceptions though) so I guess that's consider seinen. The overall yuri content in that magazine is INCREDIBLY variable going from pure subtext to cutesy love.

So, basically, it's just a slice-of-life moé show like K-On!, but a notch or two higher on the yuri subtext scale?
I haven't bothered with any of the recent handful of yuri shows, but I think I'm game for this one. (Unlike a lot of foreign fans, I love shows like K-On!.) |

Ah, I somehow gained a little more insight to the contents of the first few chapters of Yuru-Yuri.
It's a lot like K-On! but without the annoying pretense that the club is about anything other than sitting around doing nothing in particular and with a character that's a little more upfront and shameless about her feelings than any of the Sakurako Keionbu girls. Me likey and me wantey more. |

Can't say that I'm not happy about this.
Although I wish that more shoujo yuri like Gokujou Drops and Strawberry Shake Sweet would be adapted into an anime. |

One of the Japanese yuri fans I'm acquainted with pointed out that ANN misreported this. There is no Yuru Yuri anime greenlight. What the obi says is, "Wouldn't it be nice *if* there was a Yuru Yuri anime?"
The Yuri Hime editorial staff blog also said something similar, so this may be a a leak, a hint or just a ploy to see what buzz they can create. As of right now, there is no actual anime planned for this series. Cheers, Erica |

That's certainly mood killer.
*sigh* Would making a manga entry for the Encyclopedia help quell some of the feelings? |
