There was a bump that aired last earlier at night that displayed season premieres and endings among them are two titles on saturday that's yet to be revealed.
Venture Bros 4.5: August 22
Show We Can't Talk About: Saturday, February 6th
ATHF 9: February 7
Tim & Eric 5: February 28
Freaknik: March 21
Boondocks 3: March 28
Bleach 7-8: April 3
Children's Hospital: May 2
Cheyenne Cinnamon: May 9
Check It Out: May 16
Squids 5: May 16
Frankenhole: June 27
Delocated 2: July 11
Children's Hospital (listed twice?): July 11
Metal Season 4: August 22
Other Show We Can't Talk About: Saturday, September 25
Mongo Wrestling Alliance: October 10
Tight Bros: October 10
Robot Chicken 5: November 7
Venture Season Finale: December 5

So what do you think they'll be? My money a is on FMA: Brotherhood and Inuyasha Final Act, makes the most sense really.

Those would certainly be safest.

I've always wanted to see Gintama on adult swim, but I guess the odds of that ever happening are pretty low.

That show seems like the perfect mix of the Shonen Jump/Bleach-ish battles that are popular on adult swim's anime side + the crazy adult humor that is popular on adult swim's American animation side.

ok the first is obviously Brotherhood, the question is what are the other two? i'm going with the second being Soul Eater, but i have no idea on the third. EDIT nvm, i think Choco's got it right on Inuyasha.

They "lost" them? That's careless. I assume they tried checking inside the couch?
I find "we've lost the rights" and "we're clearing house" to be somewhat contradictory, the first implies the rights were taken away, and the latter that they were dropped intentionally. And as for "we think we bought three series [maybe]"...

I have a feeling that, instead of losing the rights to those shows, they decided not to renew the rights. Death Note was aired in it's entirety three times if I remember correctly. Blood+ was only aired once in it's entirety and was started and yanked at least three other times. I'm guessing ratings played a part in this decision. I was hoping for at least one more full run of Blood+. Bummer.

I'm surprised they never got the rights to something like Black Lagoon or Desert Punk. Those are two shows I'd imagine are perfect for that block and audience.

As to what they might be, I'm going with everyone else and say FMA: B, Inuyasha and Soul Eater. I don't watch anime on TV anyways unless it's episodic, though. 1) They come on way too early/late and 2) DVDs look a lot nicer. But congrats to those who're awake at those times and who can stand watching one episode a week.

It's probably the simplest way to say the rights expired. TV runs are like dvd licenses- they have set terms, including for when they revert back to the owner. When you've rerun something a gazillion times, and both shows had long runs, it makes sense to renew the lineup with brand-new shows rather then renew broadcast rights to old ones. Plus, I imagine VIZ could put Death Note reruns elsewhere [Scifi?]

Considering how much of a ratings getter the original FMA was, I agree that FMA:Brotherhood is a likely choice for one of them, and Inuyasha: Final Act is another likely choice, since Inuyasha was(and probably still is) popular enough to get high enough ratings.

Those are the safest bets. I'll watch any new anime they bring to the block, anyway.

Haha, the first? That domino fell years ago, where have you been. Remember when they kept changing the times Code Geass and Moribito aired, and put both of them on a few hiatuses of various lengths?

But yeah, this news surprises me. I thought they were done with anime for sure. FMA:B, and Inuyasha seem like sure things. Dunno about the other one. Hopefully something worth watching, or something horrible and not worth watching at all. If it's something mediocre, I'll sit through it anyway like a fool.

Does anyone really even care about anime on Adult Swim?

They pretty much spit on their anime viewers every week... and I can't believe anyone would put up with their crap.

To be honest, the only decent home grown show that has some worth has been the Venture Bros...

Other than that... I hope that rerun block goes down hard and finally goes belly up when everyone has gotten tired of seeing the same Family Guy episode for the 10th time...
