The first was the Lucky Star OAV, which will be released with subtitles only in the first week of August with a suggested retail price of $14.95.

Must be doing terrible for them to sell it so cheap. n

They first said before that they'd release the Lucky Star OVA with bilingual audio, and now they go back on their word about it? Do they WANT to alienate people? Evil or Very Mad

Kids, this is why we need a law requiring bilingual audio on ALL anime that gets released in the States!

No news about sola or True Tears being dubbed? I heard not, but..still keeping my fingers crossed. At least sola's price point makes it sound like it is.

I'm pretty disappointed that the Lucky Star OAV isn't getting a dub seeing as how good the series' English dub was.

I'm a little disappointed at the Hayate the Combat Butler! stuff as much as a pain it would be to write and dub that show in English, worse shows have been dubbed.

I'm all for soft-sub only releases as long as it keeps the price down. $44.95 SRP for a 13 episode series is a great price point. Beats importing R2 disks that's sure.

They have always been announced as sub-only releases.

Hoping that the Eureka Seven movie comes here. Don't expect to enjoy nearly as much as the series, but I'm hoping that the production values at least fit that of a theatrical release.

Bandai Visual USA was original going to release them as sub-only at the same price for just two to three episodes; didn't quite pan out as they were absorbed into Bandai Entertainment USA.

Unless you want to fool yourself into believing that those titles would be picked up by Funimation and given an English dub, then stop complaining.

What I don't get about the Lucky Star OVA is its length versus dubbing it. Doing a dub for something so short shouldn't be too much of a problem, it's less than the time to dub two episodes. But I guess BEUSA looked at who was buying and decided maybe the dub was extraneous and they could keep the price lower by cutting it? It just seems weird for something so short.

My suspicion is if it weren't for the ever stubborn global recession, Bandai USA would've licensed this the very day Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody premiered. At least they would have liked to.

Ditto. Not to take away from the original seiyuu cast, but not being able to hear Wendee Lee and Kari Wahlgren's verbal sparring once more...*sigh*...Denied! Pardon me while I find a box of chocolate cornets to drown my regrets.

Well I heard Funi was taking a interest on picking up Hayate no Gotoku!! (2nd season) because the truth with that is, any one new to the series does not need to watch season 1 at all to watch season 2.

Any way, the only thing I'm wondering at why there is no dub is Lucky Star's OVA. It's 40 mins and it would only take how ever much time they do to dub two eps

Well I thought Haruhi sold well in the U.S?
I mean if they get season 2 they could release a timeline box set with everything in the right order for around $60 or so. (this would be great seeing as I have yet to buy season 1's dvds as I wanted to wait for season 2)
