Man, now I really want to go (at least for that concert). I love her voice.

I probably will piss off a lot of people when I say this but...
Meh. This isn't what I was hoping for but still, I guess it could be cool...
Probably doesn't help that I'm a guy and Rayearth just 'isn't' my kind of thing.
*is hoping maybe there is another guest or two yet to be named and did music for a more recent production*

The OP to Rayearth is nice, but can't say the same for Getbackers. But to be fair, that's more related to the song, not the singer.
Oh, and Sandy Fox sang the English OP for Rayearth.
Just in case anyone didn't know.

I agreee with you. I too am a guy and Rayearth is certainly not my favorite type of anime. Not that its a horriable series though, it's just not something I'd ever watch.
But I will say this, the English version of Rayearth opening is sung pretty well. I can tell Sandy Fox put all of her effort in singing the song and she did it well.

0 for 3 on singers I recognize going to Otakon.
One more to be announced? Hopefully a bigger name.

Man you people, guys can like Rayearth too. Hahaha.
This is super cool, but not quite enough to get me to fly out to Otakon. Naomi Tamura is so cool. I bought one of her CDs when I was in Japan and I was not disappointed!

I've never seen a shred of Rayearth, but "Yuzurenai Negai" has got to be one of (if not the) best anime theme songs I think I've ever heard; it didn't take long for it to worm its way into my list of favorite songs in general after I heard it for the first time.
Wish I was infecting that coast now.

I haven't heard her mentioned in ages! I hope that she's doing autographs, as I actually have one of the Pearl albums, Century Toys. One of that album's songs, Bottom Line was used as the closing theme to Gall Force 3.

I know and trust me, I don't hate magical girl animes, though they are kinda hard to watch.
...And factoring in I am much more of a drama/slice of life and horror focused genre wise on my anime, a lot fails to appeal to me.
But I think Rayearth, the anime at least, is WAY too old school for me.
There's just... not enough appeal for me...
I mean, the american guests are good so far, really glad to see Mary E. McGlenn being there, I've been a pretty big fan of her work...
But... Otakon needs to crank out the guest listings, after two no namers, to me at the least, concerning the musical performances on sunday, it's looking not so extravagant.

Getbackers's op wasn't so much singing more like screaching.
