When people tell you One Piece 'gets better', they generally mean after the main crew is introduced. Things pick up alot after the Baratie arc, but get much better when Chopper joins the crew, and then improves even further when Robin joins.
One Piece is my favourite series ever, and I'll admit in a heartbeat that the first couple of episodes arent really that interesting. In fact, I'm not even looking forward to buying them when they finaly get released in Australia, but I will anyway to support it.
It's a real shame the animation budget is so shockingly low at times. However, me and fellow fans have good fun making fun of that aspect. At least it improves in leaps and bounds...about 100 or so episodes later.

His wife, huh? Some people get all the luck, if true. I guess I should just consider myself one of the lucky few who realize that GF is infinitely superior to GH. No one challenge me on this, as it will get your nowhere.
Also, all that anime...and it's not in alphabetical order. What gives? And I thought I was the only idiot in the world who bought that suggestive Ropponmatsu figure! It has a gold stripe instead of silver for some reason, but close enough. I would've bought the blue one if they had it, but they didn't, and it was right in front of me, and it was cheap, and, and....and, I wish I bought the blue one. Man, I really should've bought the blue one. I still could buy the blue one, but then what would I do with this one? Also, her antenna was broken out of the box...

I love Shin. He's so charmingly obnoxious. My other favorite characters on the show besides him are Ai (voiced brilliantly by Monica Rial) and her bodyguard, Mr. K. Those two are comedy gold.
I told myself I wasn't going to get the show on DVD because it was localized dub only, but ended up giving in anyway, because it can be so funny.

I read the first volume of the manga (raw) about ten years ago, based on a friend's recommendation, then didn't bother looking for more. Had to wait till the anime was on local TV for me to get into the series. Picks up pretty fast at five episodes a week, but then I had to wait for the dub to catch up every now and then. For the most part I try not to get sucked into series that run for hundreds of episodes with no end in sight.

Actually, the Arlong arc (what most consider the hooking point) will be spread around both boxsets 3 and 4, so it might be accurate to say the hooking point won't occur until 4. However, the hooking point for me was specifically episode 37 a tear-jerking scene then immediately followed by Luffy doing something AWESOME, so your mileage may vary.

I tried looking at some of this weeks shevles, but since I'm on a college computer I had to alt+F4 once I saw a few of those figures.
Not that I mind them however.

Well, as somebody that loves GoLion because I love the Super Robot genre (and all mecha anime in general) I recognize that GoLion is a show that was done in the twilight of the Super Robot era, Shows like Mobile Suit Gundam were exposing people to the Real Robot concept with Super Dimension Fortress Macross and Armored Trooper Votoms about to cement the end of an era and the start of another.
But with so little in the way of Super Robot shows that make their way to these shores, we got to love what we get with all our heart, even if they're part of the black sheep of the family, too bad people in R1 can't get exposed to the classic of the genre like Mazinger Z, Great mazinger, Ufo Robo Grendizer, Getter Robo, Getter Robo G. Kotetsu Jeeg, Daiku Maryu Gaiking, ChoDenji Robo Combattler V, ChoDenji Machine Voltes V and Tosho Daimos among others that are the cream of the crop of the genre.

You can relate to Shin better if you look at him as your iD.

That's exactly what I was thinking when I looked at the photos.

That's an understatement if you ask me. I hope this guy truly appreciates her and knows how lucky he is to have a wife that open minded. Wow. Just....wow.
