So wait, let me see if I've got this straight- we have a video game, which is popular enough to produce manga spin-off, which leads to an anime based on the story of the game, not the manga, and then the same anime produces a second season, which gets adapted into a manga, which... what?

I think this has more to do with strengthening the brand before the DS game comes out (hence, V Jump) than anything else.

And that's the problem with Blue Dragon for me. The massive marketing going into it, with all the releases and tie-ins...It just feels too manufactured...

Too focus group-y or something...Well, maybe not that, but it definitely feels "manufactured", like they're trying to *force* the "franchise" to be successful.

Personally, I don't give a rat's ass so long as the story's good...
