Cloverfield was terrible in my opinion.

I agree it wasn't as good as I expected it to be.

On another note it's sad to see one piece drop out of the top 10 but then again it has been around for a whole month now. Smile

I disagree with the opinions that Cloverfield was terrible. It was intense and had a WTF ending to it, but all in all I thought it was good. It would be interesting to see if they make another one. With that said, I'm not surprised that the movie would knock Doraemon out of its top spot.

I adore Cloverfield. I'm sad I only got to see it twice in theatres.
Luckily the DVD comes out in 2 1/2 weeks. If it wasn't a school night I'd find a way to get it at midnight.

It's only proper that Cloverfield is #1 in Japan since its creators patterned it after Godzilla - "if the Japanese can have their own giant monster, why can't we?"

First of all, that's GINO (Godzilla In Name Only). Laughing

Second, the Cloverfield guys didn't want Godzilla (who belongs to the Japanese). They wanted a giant monster that they can call their own.

Well, according to the Japanese he's Zilla, and he even came up in one of the movies. He was so pathetic he got whooped by the true Godzilla Twisted Evil

That's what I had thought when I was first seeing the ads for the movie, that maybe it might have been another Godzilla movie, but then with some of the dialogue that you would hear it really didn't seem like it was Godzilla.

It catered to the viral crowd.Although it did have a short 4 part manga, I didn't keep up with.If you put together all the web clues it was real exciting. If you didn't read into the viral backstoryspoiler[about Targuto,Slusho and the mother's(The mother that has yet to be shown in cloverfield)ingredients that became an analogy for Slusho."can't have just six,POP"] I could see how it would be a turn off.Cloverfield has been pretty exciting and more clues are still being revealed. The more you watch the movie the more the little details you missed start to pop up.It reminded me of some of the bloodless survival horror games on PS2,like in Cloverfield when they spoiler[had to retrieve the main character's girl friend, but the building was torn apart so they had to venture up the other building to get to her.]It's videogame action, man especially when the camera guy is nicknamed H.U.D.
