In Canada only, the games are also available via Videogamesplus (vgp.ca), though only Canadian shipping.

Glad to hear Megumi Hayashibara as Lemina again in the JP trailer but it sounds like everyone got recast in the English one

The US/North American release does have Japanese voice included (I mean why wouldn't they) according to the game's official website. |

It was rare for games to have Japanese voices back then. Lunar's original releases didn't so you never know. |

Please let this do well so we can get a Lunar 3 (we can all pretend Dragon Song was an elaborate hallucination)

Well, it's definitely not the original cast from the Playstation or Sega CD. Question is if it's the same cast from the ported PSP (as if anybody actually remembered that one) or if it's an entirely different cast altogether. My guess is the latter.
Lunar 2 is right out different altogether, that's a given. |

That's because CD's storage space (which is what Sega CD, and Playstation for the NA/US release) is limited back then, you couldn't have dual audio compared to today's version. Even both Lunar games didn't get a DVD-based game release (that could accommodate a dual language audio track support) for PS2 or original 1st Xbox consoles, and you have to wait some many years later (not counting the PSP's release of the first game in 2009/2010 which probably couldn't accommodate dual audio, although that one is a somewhat a bit to heavily modified version of the 1st game). It would've been stupid and foolish for a re-release of the 2 Lunar games to not have Japanese audio for the US/North American gaming market, let alone the fans of both game title that grew up playing these 2 great titles. Also, I want to remind you that Lunar: The Silver Star (the original SEGA CD version), and for Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete (the PS1 and SEGA Saturn versions), the PS1/Sega Saturn version remake of the 1st game had a different Japanese voice cast compared to the SEGA CD/Mega CD version. Alex and Lunar in the SEGA CD version was voiced by Kikuko Inoue, while in the PS1/SEGA Saturn version, the 2 were voiced by Akira Ishida (who voiced Alex), and Kyoko Hikami (who voiced Lunar). So yeah, that's something in case some of you may not be aware of when it comes to Japanese voice. I suspect this will not have multiple Japanese voices, and I think this Japanese voice might be a new one or something else. There's a comparison video of the multiple console comparison of Lunar Silver Star Story for all of you to watch for research purpose, and for curiosity. I wish the remastered collection would've included the original SEGA CD version of the 2 game, so people can get to know what it was like playing that version of the game. Already impressed with the new voices so far and glad we now have less than two weeks left. Raring to go when the day comes.

From my understanding it's a completely new cast. According to Victor Ireland, GungHo weren't interested in the old Working Designs localizations. I'm not sure the status of the Silver Star Harmony version, since that was handled by XSeed, but since that company is owned by Marvelous now, who knows if GungHo even bothered reaching out to them. |

I'm glad they used LA actors.
Is that Jessica Calvello as Jessica? Erika Harlacher as Lucia? I wouldn't be surprised if Bryce Papenbrook voices Alex since he gets so many hero roles. Would be nice if they gave a cast list so I don't guess. The only voice I'm certain of is Keith Silverstein, as the villain in the later part of the trailer. |

I would be fine with that if it was based on the Japanese version and not the Working Designs version where they made you pay experience to save your game and other nonsensical difficulty tweaks those games were infamous for. In general I feel all "remasters" should let you switch between the original for everything. VAs, OST, gameplay, dialog. |

I was thinking the exact same thing. Her voice is just so distinctive. I've watched Excel Saga so much back then I could probably pick her out of a crowd. |

Whatever you said, yeah basically I agree with all of this. I mean TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection had 3 different console versions of TMNT: Tournament Fighters, and the arcade and SNES version of Turtles in Time. I can say the same for Disney Classic games: Aladdin, The Lion King, and The Jungle Book, that collection had multiple versions of some of the same games like the SNES and Genesis version of The Lion King. If those collection I mentioned was able to multiple versions of the same games, then I wish it would've been possible to include the Sega CD version of the 2 Lunar games as a bonus (maybe include the GBA, and the PSP version has additional bonuses if they could) in that same manner. |
