It was a highly anticipated series for 2006, R2 is the highly anticipated show for 2008. I'm sure Bandai will license R2, but will it also go to Cartoon Network in a few years?

I'm excited to see what the dub is like though, and I might buy the DVDs once a full boxset is released. Though, I think the premiere time for the show (1:30AM EST) is far too late to attract a whole lot of viewers. It really should be premiering during Toonami sometime like around 9 or 10 PM. If it doesn't do well at its late slot, [as] has no right to complain, it's just simply not a good time slot for a brand new show. Also, if they don't advertise heavily, like they did for crap like Fat Guy Stuck in the Internet, then they again, have no right to complain if they receive poor ratings. I hate [as].

Nice, so Bandai, feel like telling us Canucks if we get a bit of the Geas? I could easily see the show replace GSD once it finishes its' run this upcoming month

The article says 1:30am pacific.. Is this pacific time? Because that would make it 10:30 EST and AS doesn't start until 11, so I am confused. If it is 1:30 EST than I feel sorry for it. That is a lame time slot for an awesome show. It would do better at the 12:00am spot. 1:30 is a bit late for my taste and I am disappointed because a lot of people may not stay awake to watch. It's bad enough Bleach is on so late but this too? Ugh

It's 1:30 AM Eastern (and if it were really 1:30 Pacific, it would be 4:30 Eastern, not 10:30 Razz). It's really no skin off my nose, as there hasn't been a Saturday in the past few years when I've gone to bed any earlier than 2 AM. Plus, there seems to be a strange phenomenon where the later time slots on the Saturday line-up will often pick up better ratings numbers than shows airing earlier in the night.

That why networks have East Coast and West Coast feeds, so it'll be on at 1:30 AM regardless (hush, all you Central and Mountain dwellers! Wink ).

This is the time slot after Bleach, so it doesn't seem so bad to me.

Um...

A) Naruto was edited very lightly from the start and has been even less so as its broadcast run has progressed...and

B) Adult Swim hasn't employed any sort of editing other than a few language bleeps and the very very rare nudity blur over the past three years or so.

Code Geass had a LOT of nudity, violence, and adult themes. Great show, but it's on later for a reason.

I don't remember there to be too much violence and adult themes, and there was only one actual scene of nudity that i can recall. I think that this show could easily receive a TV-14 rating for most of the episodes without much editing. It's only on that late because it's replacing Blood+ in that timeslot soon after Blood+ is over, but seriously I'd like [adult swim] to air all of their Saturday anime lineup much earlier on Saturdays, even if the comedies aired before the anime still get higher ratings.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to what Johnny Yong Bosch brings to the table as Lelouch. Bandai hasn't disappointed me too much with their dubs.

thanks for correcting me Top Gun. see what 3 days of NO sleep will get you? thinkin backwards. hahaha but still 1:30 is a bit of a stretch. I usually go to bed after Death Note as I have seen Bleach 3 times through these episodes. Guess its back to online Poker for half an hour for me on saturday nights to kill some time.

Adult themes? I don't remember that at all. Maybe a scene where CC gets undressed or Kallen in the shower, but I don't recall more than that.

JYB is always good but being in 2 shows back to back might grate my nerves. He is an awesome VA but his voice rarely changes. I'm going to be thinking about Ichigo everytime I hear Lelouch.

Kallen shower scene had some nipples and lets not forget amnesiac Viletta's first encounter with Ougi. Wink
Also, my favorite scene of nina with the table~

anyway, i expect this anime to be ruined by dubs and edits of course

One scene of nipples, and lots of butt action. As for violence...let's see, machine gunning a room full of refugee families, shooting a girl in the head, and coercing an entire platoon of cops to kill themselves...and that's just the first episode. Dare I mention our darling Euphie's little meltdown in the stadium? I would be very surprised if this series was aired without quite a few edits being made. When I mentioned adult themes, I'm not referring to sexual content, but rather the fact that war touches everyone, regardless of age. There is a fair bit of violence directed towards children in this series, and it's something that a lot of parents might not feel too comfortable with.

There are some episodes with a lot of graphic violence, which is why [adult swim] at least allows TV-MA violent content. As for Kallen butt action? I always wondered why they can allow male rear nudity to be shown on TV but not female. Confused
Most kids (with responsible parents) won't be able to watch it anyways since being on [as] means that it can't be on earlier than 11 pm. If the editing does prove to be a big problem, there's always the dvd release. I just want [as] to air all of their Saturday anime lineup earlier so that they at least have a chance with ratings. Why do I keep seeing people bringing up violence as a "need to edit" factor in anime on [as]? To my knowledge, they haven't edited the violence out of any of the shows they've premiered in nearly 2 years. Just take a look at Trinity Blood. Remember that show? Vampire getting cut in half, ripping his own heart out, then crushing it, all in the first episode? And they've been showing graphic violence warnings in front of Blood+ and did the same with the last half of Eureka 7. Any violence towards kids may be toned down/cut, but the majority of it probably will not.

As for JYB, I like him, so I'm looking forward to his performance. And back when they had Bleach, Blood+, Eureka 7, I didn't find it strange at all hearing him as Ichigo and Renton within the space of 90 minutes. I'm just curious if he'll try to pull out a more sinister tone for Lelouch or what.
