Oh thank god they don't de-age when they transform. My issue with otonapre last year was It was nice to see them grow up and tackle adult stuffs but they have to de-age back to middle school when they transform to precures.

Because they're only 20 here with designs that are more or less the same (Liko has garters now and that's about it), whereas the Yes 5 team were in their late 20s and would have needed much more extensive redesigns.

While I absolutely agree with you on Otona, Maho is actually cheating here. They were already aged up when they transformed in the first season, so now they can just use the same designs (almost) anyway, because there's not much difference. To technically, it's doing the same thing Otona was doing: having them transform to look the same as in the first series. It just fits here better.

Well, the Maho 2 forms are new. It's less noticeable with Miracle's pink diamond form, but Magical's pink diamond form is more obviously different than the old diamond form. New forms could also mean a new transformation sequence to go along with them, which would differentiate Maho 2 from Otona a lot. If the old forms return, their transformation sequences would also have to be edited at the very least since they probably won't deage though I suspect that the stock footage may be outright skipped to save budget if they do bring back the other forms.
