I am so glad such an awesome reviewer has an interest in Precure and reviews it still. Rebecca's reviews are so insightful and rarely do I feel any sort of thing was missing from her reviews.

I really liked Mayu and Yuki's arc, it brought a lot more depth to the character interactions compared to Iroha and Komugi who are your standard happy-go-lucky protagonists. It's also been cute to see Yuki specially slowly open up to Komugi and the positive influence the friendship has been for her.
I too am still hoping we get a bunny team because it would feel like such a waste to give Daifuku so much personality and not make him and Satoru into surprise Cures. Cure Wing had a pretty good reception from what I've seen so it wouldn't feel off to have another male Cure this season. Speaking of Daifuku, I really loved the little bits of bunny trivia from the latest episode. The "usampo" (bunny stroll) and the flopping. It's also always so cute to see Daifuku and Komugi playing and hopping all over the room, they bring so much joy FTR i still think Nyammi is a pretty bad Cure name and specially so for Yuki, it really doesn't match her personality and it isn't even an actual word. She could've been Cure Shinya and match the Shiny Cats Pact phrase, and I still think Lunyar would've been fitting for her color scheme. I'm sure they could've come up with a better Nya-adjacent pun that was also an actual word and was more fitting for Yuki |

It's good to see you review Precure again. I do miss when you reviewed the individual episodes though, there was always a lot of interesting meat to those, like, I would like to hear why you thought the Shin-chan crossover was awkward, because I personally thought it was a brilliant move to make it also a plot episode. People watching it just for the spectacle were exposed to lore. Important lore since the main animal shown in the story was a wolf.
The entire part in the review about Yuki and Mayu perfectly encapsulates what makes it great, you did a excellent job writing about that. I really liked the paragraph that ended in "because sometimes, putting on a costume is a way to start feeling comfortable, until eventually, you don't need it anymore". One thing I'm enjoying about the season is the screen time shared between all the characters. There isn't a single episode since Yuki and Mayu joined that would work if Iroha and Komugi weren't there. Even the episodes where Mayu and Yuki join or become Precure wouldn't work if Iroha and Komgui were absent. This is actually how screentime is meant to work. They aren't there to just say one line or a catchphrase so you're aware they're in the room. Even Satoru, who isn't even in some episodes, isn't guilty of this really. It's nice, it's the complete opposite end of the spectrum from that one episode of Tropical where it was Auska and Laura on a train and then the other girls showed up in the last four minutes so the stock footage matched. I also want Satoru and Daifuku to transform, but while the show has hinted at it, it hasn't promised it, so I don't know how upset I'll be if it doesn't happen. |
