It's not a branch. It's already been corrected 2 days ago. It's a subsidiary. Source: https://twitter.com/cover_corp/status/1768506419496841379

I wonder if it means it could establish a warehouse to store a lot of the Hololive-related merchandise, and thus we don't have to worry about crazy shipping time or fees when ordering them. Heck, taken a step further, we have these goods be found in some physical specialty geek stores in North America,

Sorry to be dense, but what’s the practical difference to fans? Not trying to start an argument or asking you to research technical distinctions for me, but I didn't catch what people saw in the word "branch" that caused significant misunderstanding. Whatever the legal implementation, what's described in that (leaked?) deck sounds like the activities of a branch. Either fans were excited to talk about some rather technical differences, or the word carries some other significance. In fact, as a primarily-English-speaking non-MBA, I'd be more inclined to speculate if I'd heard the word "subsidiary" without context because it often implies an entirely new line of business. Cool news, anyway! Hooray for better merch shipping and event organization. |

It's because branch has a special meaning within Cover specialically. They have for example, hololive (female talents), but then also holostars(male talents), and holoID (Indonesian talents) and holoEN (English talents) which are referred to as "branches" but don't mean anything from a corporate perspective, it's more about internal cover organization. So in order to make sure people aren't confusing this subsidiary with a "new EN branch" that is separate with holoEN, they issued the statement clarifying that it's not a branch. |

Ohhh, right! Thank you. It's funny that didn't occur to me.
I was picturing a Reddit thread with a bunch of fans discussing the legal and tax implications of directly owning an overseas office vs operating through a holding company. |

Thanks very much for notifying us of this. We wrote this article based on the press release (posted here: http://4NN.cx/.208647) we received via email from Cover Corporation, which clearly said branch. Cover Corp actually never sent us any correction notice by email, oddly. I've put a note at the top of the press release we posted to the press release section of ANN, and I've updated this article too. |

Ohh, if they find a way to get any of concert BDs translated, subtitled, and be easily available, that will be a big win in my book. |
