For information's sake for anyone who makes it this far, I feel it's worth pointing out that PRISM Project did start in January 2021 (as the article notes), but as an independent agency (which the article does not note). It wasn't until May 2022 that they signed onto a partnership with SME and did so in order to, by all accounts, avoid having to shut down at that time instead.

This bit of daylight between the two entities, as opposed to Sony's two actual homegrown Vtuber agencies VEE and Verse-n, has factored into how PRISM Project was run and likely played a part in the dissolution process, notably the fact that the departing talents are retaining their models and IP which is decidedly not the norm.

This all is admittedly getting into the weeds a bit, but I figured it was worth mentioning.
