Not the ship I was expecting. But in all seriousness, congrats to them. It seems to be sort of a trend in Japan to marry during Winter holidays.

Hidaka and Uchida’s marriage was the biggest news. Let’s see if it happens to their characters in Ryuuou no Oshigoto too.

Well, it was of more of a date case scenario (12/31/23) more than just winter holiday this time.

I don't know what's better, the surprise seiyuu ship I never saw coming, Rina Hidaka and Maaya Uchida being sister-in-laws, or the fact that the leads from The Ryuo's Work is Never Done! actually got together. Have they been together since that show? Though now it's just amusing to think that they've recorded together while actually being together ala the Sakamoto's and Yuuki Kaji/Ayana Taketatsu in High School DxD Hero. But congrats to them both!
And congrats to Kanae Ito, Kanako Sudo, Arisa Noto, and Akari Kageyama!
I'd been wondering if Yohei Azakami and Hitomi Ohwada had actually been in a show together. Cool and congrats to the two of them!

Only in US, I may be mistaken but I don't remember Japan using the same date format. Also, they married on January first, not December 31st according to sources. And I remember similar thing happening with seiyuu marriages last year and a year before.
UPD: yes, Japan uses YY/MM/DD, so it would be 231231. Still a pretty date, but see above.

Keep in mind that 'announcing a marriage' =/= 'just got married'. It could have happened some time ago but they are only announcing it now. Marriage in Japan is accomplished by filing paperwork and any wedding or party takes place at some time after that, sometimes months/years. Japanese people really value their privacy which is why they use stage names and you don't know much about their private lives. Sometimes a couple doesn't announce their marriage until they're having a baby, even if they've been married for years.
