…seems like a lot of idol groups (big side-eye to the 46-groups) shouldn’t be performing then.

Waaaaaaay too late, guys. Johnny Kitagawa is already dead. Maybe take a stand while the crime is happening.

A few things come to mind here: AKB 48, shaving hair and begging for forgiveness for spending time with a man, Johnny Kitagawa, how Ataru Nakamura felt treated at the event, Oshi no Ko...

A stream of conscious, really. Don't know why. Wink

And it’s only, what, five years after three members of Keyakizaka46 collapsed at the end of their Kouhaku performance?

Just want to point out the actual anti-discrimination clause is missing both sexual orientation and gender identity. I mean I know this is conservative Japan but I thought this was becoming more commonplace, especially in the entertainment industry.

no (ex) johnny's artists this year. I find it kind of insulting that, while all media were virtually connivers (by means of complicit silence) in the old pederast's crimes for years, now that enough time has passed for someone's blown whistle to reach foreign media (namely, the BBC)'s ears and finally expose DECADES of FILTH, everyone in J media is feigning indignation BUT the only ones who are actually getting punished are the artists, who were/are literally the victims!!!!!! it's beyond disgusting.

While it doesn't specify sexual orientation, it's got both 'sex' and 'gender' for a reason; the former is 性別 and the second ジェンダー, so it is specifically gender identity.
