I bought the original Muv-Luv on Steam a while back, and I hope to get to it relatively soon. The concept of "pastiche of every harem romance anime/game cliché of the early 2000s that then turns into the chief inspiration for spoiler[Attack on Titan]" intrigues me.

I would think Frontwing got inspiration from Muv-Luv when they created the Grisaia series. Starts out as a romance comedy and then goes dark and epic.

Grain of salt: they also announced mobile versions of the Muv-Luv trilogy years ago, even doing a public beta test in Spring 2022, then basically abandoned the idea. And this is despite the fact that an Android version is a still-unfulfilled backer reward from the 2016 Kickstarter to localize the games. The consolation prize, such as it is, is that you can play scaled-down versions of the trilogy as unlocks in the JP-only gacha game Muv-Luv Dimensions. So, yeah, maybe don’t save up your My Nintendo gold coins until you see an actual listing on the eShop.

Yesterday’s event video is here: https://youtu.be/OhU2rAKpMYk. There was basically no substantive mention of the long-delayed visual novels Resonative (the conclusion of The Day After series), Integrate (an Alternative sequel announced in 2019 that would connect many of the publisher’s titles), or Duty Lost Arcadia (a spinoff set in Europe). There was, however, a 20-minute segment on a play-with-real-money online pachislot coin-drop game. So that should give you a pretty good sense of the health of this franchise.

I'd be ecstatic if the Japanese physical release will have an English text option. A few VNs on the Switch have had that option in the past, but here's hoping.

It is going to have English along with a physical release. I'd vmbe checking PlayAsia for it next year.

They'll probably do with the mobile games like Frontwing did with Grisaia: Chronos Rebellion. Turn it from a mobile gotcha game into a full fledged VN sequel to the original Grisaia Trilogy and Grisaia: Phantom Trigger and sell it on Steam.

I am 100% confident they will release the game in November 2024 like they say. I'm also confident that the Switch 2 will have been out for three months by that point and won't feature backwards compatibility for Switch 1 games.

That's cool that you'll be able to experience the story on Switch!

Yeah, as a backer myself been waiting for the android release. It makes me more angry because at AX 2018 or 19 They the mobile release there. I messed with it for about 10 minutes and it looked alright. It is sad what has happened to the franchise.
