This has been my hidden gem of the season. It's bizarre in the best way possible, and the creepy aspects are surprisingly well directed?

It’s hard to say what’s actually real. Are they gonna avenge their mother or are they just full of imagination? What really happened to her? Was she even killed? This story can go so many different directions.

The manga is a masterpiece but I wonder how well the audience will handle the emotional whiplash in later episodes. I would literally cry, laugh and then be disturbed between one page and the next. That kind of thing works well in manga since you can take a second to process all those feelings but doesn't seem like it would work well in a limited runtime.

Crunchyroll just released a dub and it is so poorly produced I would have thought it was from 1995. The mom and Eiji sound HORRIBLE. Apparently the dubbing company is in Japan.

I’m glad to know I was correct in determining that Eiji is Migi and Dali’s brother. I suspected that since we first laid eyes on him as his eye color and body build are just like theirs. Which of course led to me thinking that Akira and Metry had a hidden affair. I never suspected Reiko couldn’t get pregnant and purposely had Metry sleep with her husband repeatedly.
I am quite sure we are missing the last pieces of the puzzle as there’s no way Eiji did kill his biological mother. I’d suspect Reiko again after seeing her spider walk across the wall, but I have a feeling it’s someone else. My biggest disappointment with this show is that Yoko Sonoyama hasn’t yelled “SHIT!!!!!” at the top of her lungs every episode. I cracked up the times when she did. |
