The anime has already adapted everything the manga currently has, so I guess the only way to move foward is through original content or adapting more side content.

Um, no. The timeline for the anime in terms of production has always gone like this:

-Seasons 1 and 2 first came out in 2016

-Dead Apple came out in 2018

-Season 3 was released in 2019

-We had to wait about three years for Seasons 4 and 5 to be announced

So, the "To Be Continued" is simply a message to fans that the anime will continue until Asagiri is officially done with the story more than anything. I don't see them doing anime original content.

Kadokawa is one of the main producers for the anime. You know they will find a way to milk this series if they can regardless of how source material exists.

Also, "I don't see them doing anime original content".... despite the fact that Dead Apple exists, and you yourself explictlh mentioning it. Lol.

I thought Dead Apple was canon though?

I hate to be that guy, but Dead Apple isn't exactly anime original. It's anime original as in the light novels and manga came out after the release of the film, but Asagiri himself developed the story of the film to take place after season 2, in which the events of the film are loosely canon.

Beast was licensed - both the manga and the novel. I'd love to see it get an anime adaptation.
