I remember watching this a while back, and thinking something to the effect of: "this is not a good show. And yet, I just can't look away."

I do wish the show with his name featured Baki himself more often. But I also find the other fighters to be strangely entrancing weirdos too.

This is one of the most popular shows on Netflix and it’s kind of funny because on the surface it seems like it really shouldn’t be. But the show is just so unafraid to throw everything at the viewer. The characters who are barely legally distinct from their real life counterparts. The narrator that actually makes some of this seem plausible. The fact that our hero is really just a guy with major daddy issues. It’s the sort of thing that makes me thankful that streaming is willing to put money into anime because you wouldn’t see something like this anywhere else.

Baki is my definition of a guilty pleasure for me. It's completely ridiculous and nonsensical. Characters will be throwing bone breaking punches and kicks, the SFX of bone breaking and the flesh tearing is heard, blood gushes from the wound, but theyll brush it off like a flea bite and continue fighting, and then you are thrown a curve ball with the narrator giving you a history lesson or trivia all while that is happening.

This sounds like hot trash yet good hot trash in the same vain as Killing Bites (shame the Manga was never officially released here). This sounds like my jam but I guess I should start with the first season first.

There is an official translation of Killing Bites, though it's by Medibang/Media Do (available on Comikey and probably other places), fwiw.
