It's nice to see that Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods is getting a limited re-release for the film's 10th anniversary, however, I felt Toei Animation, Crunchyroll, and Fathom Events could have had an opportunity for the 2008 JSAT special titled "Dragon Ball: Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Return!!" to make its official debut to North America including an English dub. Not to mention, there was one scene in Battle of Gods where Bulma mentions Vegeta's brother, Tarble. Plus, Tarble also appears, as a playable character, in a video game Dragon Ball Z: Raging Blast 2, making it the one time we ever hear his character dubbed in English. I know they released One Piece 3D: Straw Hat Chase to theaters in North America for a limited time back in November 2021 with the screening of One Piece Film: Strong World, but sadly Straw Hat Chase was never dubbed in English. Even now, I still can't comprehend how and why anime companies pass on the English dub and/or hold out for too long for any OVA/film to be released. Either because of a certain lack of popularity or a licensing issue. Still, it would've been nice for any long-running anime franchise to give any leftover OVAs, films, TV specials, etc. a big chance. No anime franchise won't be complete without them.

You want everything to be licensed, released and dubbed in an franchise like Dragon Ball?

Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Return's rights are controlled by Shueisha since they were sole producer on it (not animation producer to be clear), it's why Funimation never released it here.
With that said, the anniversary screenings here does bring up interesting questions for if they do something similar with Resurrection F in two years.
