Too many series that didn't have their endings adapted have been rebooted lately that this one its virtually imminent.

ES21 is my favorite sports manga ever, but the anime was just dreadful, with severely low budget animation, various plot points changed, lots of dull filler, and a bunch of distracting product placement. I would be thrilled if it got a proper full adaption reboot. You'd need quite a lot of episodes to do it justice, though; dramatic tension is really important to this series, so it's not the type where you can rush through chapters without wrecking the pacing.

Does this man ever sleep? Every time I look, Murata's got like, eight projects he's juggling, and they're all of high quality!

I may be misremembering but as I recall those chapters near the end were on the draggy side. While I get the potential issue of an anime adaptation unburdened by not needing to slow itself down so as not to catch up to its manga counterpart. Speeding through the material at the same time you shouldn’t bog down the adaptation with extraneous material that also effects the pacing.
