One Piece´s ratings increased by just 0.4% but the whole Gear 5hype drummed up by Shueisha/Toei was more so for the international and web market. Japan has been swimming in it for a year now. Old news. This once again proves that the manga + Jump are the core product by a mile but the 9:30 am on a Sunday kid´s slot might be an issue. So is the horrendous pacing. 15 pages made it on the screen this time. Not too bad by Toei standards and the animation was quite good. Better than a lot of Film Red. The direction and sound designs had issues though.

The pacing is really hurting more than anything for one piece

I didn't expect Zom 100 to appear. Maybe they did good promotion with the liveaction

It's not like the manga side was much different in regards to the whole "gear 5 hype". The OP audience is the OP audience, it's not going to be drastically altered by an hype event (or lack thereof) at this point. Only external catalysts can do that at this point (i.e. film RED) and even those can only do so much at this point.
There may be more room to expand the audience overseas - since these markets are less intimidated by length, but in regards to that, the live action has more of a shot at pulling people in than either the manga or the anime to be honest.

Huh, I didn't know Zom 100 was airing in a daytime slot. Network and timeslot are a couple of things that I wish got more discussion in English-speaking fandom.
Also, nice work from Jujutsu Kaisen, making the ranking in a late-night slot!

Looks like the Zom 100 anime is doing pretty well for itself in Japan… so it’s a shame that it keeps getting delayed. Looks like episode 6 is delayed now as well.
This keeps happening this show is going to lose momentum.
