Is Yen Press dropping the light novels? They've really been slowing down these past several years, despite them being 12 volumes behind on the main series and 6 more in the sequel series, not even counting short story volumes. And now there's not even a listing for the next volume after the most recent volume 20 in October 2022.

Only got like 20 volumes to go. Might want to split cour it at least to speed this up since the LN is finished.
Interesting that Iwasaki is returning for Mahouka but not Kuroshitsuji. I mentioned this in the recent Kuroshitsuji trailer article. |

Any chance they are not going to finish adapting the rest of the LN with this new season? As in having a S4 in the future? Is there enough materials for an additional season after this? |

^ It is impossible to adapt the rest of the story in 13 or 26 episodes without skipping a bunch of volumes, so there will be more seasons after this.
Source material: 32 volumes; ended in 2020 Season 1 (2014: 26 episodes): Adapts 1 to 7; Skipped 5. Movie (2017): Takes place after Season 2. They were going to end the anime by giving LN fans an original movie, but they changed their minds sometime after that because the movies existence and following order doesn't make sense for anime only watchers. Season 2 (2020: 13 episodes): Adapts 9 to 11 Special (2021): Adapts 8 Seeing as though they went from two straight cours to one cour (that's not good) in 6 years, this new season will be one cour even though they are trying to commit to finish the series because it doesn't make sense to be taking this long when the source material is done. I'd love for them to prove me wrong and make this season two straight cours because we'll be ending this season at volume 14 or 15 if its 13 episodes. |

That is way too many LN volumes left to believe they are animating everything. It is even weirder that this franchise is popular in Japan, but Aniplex seems to not care enough about churning out anime seasons left and right. |
