So basically Heroes for consoles? Kind of? Although the actual gameplay is a little different.
So you can do any combination/fusions with classic characters and the OC's? I wonder if the OC characters get Supports with each other.

I recall coming across of leak images of this a couple weeks back and didn't really believe it especially because how wild the MC's hairstyle is. And lo and behold, it is actually true!
And I should have known sooner since the character designs is done by Mika Pikazo who also did Bae from Hololive EN and Sei Shounagon from Fate/GO.

This game sort of reminds me of how Pokémon Let's go was suppposed to bring Pokémon go fans to console games. But now it's FE Heroes

I remember seeing the leaked screenshots of this a few months ago and thinking it was obviously fake.
... and I still find myself wishing it actually was fake, because I'm not liking what I'm seeing here, if I'm being honest. No excuse to harass the character designer (which unfortunately has happened already), but now modern Fire Emblem is on a 4 in 4 streak of just being underwhelming for me (7 in 6 if we count Heroes and Tokyo Mirage Sessions). Not counting Echoes here because that was faithful to the original. Too faithful actually, I'd argue, but at least palatable.

I did think the designs reminded me a bit of Baelz so I suppose this makes sense. I don't mind the character designs at all. I find them refreshing and wonderful after Three House's bland designs which I blame on the school setting and generic job system. It's nice to see a potentially return-to-form Fire Emblem in the vein of Awakening and Fates. I wholeheartedly approve of this.

Apparently you’re not the only person lot of….strong feelings about the MC hair on the internet. In a series that’s featured characters with hair drills and hair colors of various shades some of which would not be naturally occurring.
A character with two mixed hair colors is too much for some.

I'd be lying if I said I have no concerns with what was shown- not as much the character designs, but definitely bringing in prior characters is a point of concern for me. That said, the proof is in the product- I wasn't thrilled with the idea of Fire Emblem: School Edition, but I ended up being fond of it overall (not without its issues, but good.) So we will see.

It's not necessarily that mixed hair is a problem, but in this particular case, they make the design feel way too... what's a good word for this? Busy? Overloaded? Crowded? Feels like there's too much going on with it, especially for the female version. That particular issue isn't anything new for that artist though...

Oh huh I knew Bae and Sei Shounagon looked a TON alike but had never actually looked up the character designer to see if they were the same person. She definitely has a distinctive style she favors it seems.
I'm not totally sold on the whole summoning heroes from other Fire Emblem games premise. It makes sense in a mobile gacha, but I'm not sure about it's integration here. But then again I might just be soured by the fact that I found the story in Fire Emblem Heroes very lacking and the integration of the other characters pretty barebones, which is why I stopped playing it a while back. I'll withhold judgment on Engage, but I'm cautiously optimistic.

When I checked the chatter on Twitter and feedback from my friends, there is too much going on indeed. But definitely, if we are talking about how smooth the battle gameplay and graphics is... dayum. Just take my money
(Also, I am a newcomer to the FE franchise. I'm sure there are a lot of other details I have missed, but my basis for my opinion is from FE:3H)

I get that but when you’ve seen the crazy and also some of the lazy styles that some artists have done this could’ve been much more outlandish or bland.
