Was a long time coming for me. Glad to see this series finally getting an anime.

None of my friends liked the manga. And I heard it is not that popular, so an odd decigion. But this announcment leaked a couple of days ago.

It's not one of Jump's headliner series but it's popular enough that it's been running for 3 and a half years now, in a magazine that's famous for cancelling series mercilessly. It's not a favorite of mine but it definitely has a following.

It's a bit weird to get into, but once you get used to it, it's pretty fun. I understand why it became a cult series.

Silver Link is almost always a solid choice studio wise, so I'm looking forward to finally checking it out.

Eh WSJ axed new series that failed to capture an audience. But once you get pass the beginning phase you pretty much safe as long as there no new hit to kick you out.

It had some weird and uneven parts early on, but once it got past those it became one of my favorite series in the magazine.
It might be a challenge to do the sometimes spectacular art justice in the anime but I'm still happy that it finally made that step before reaching its conclusion (which should happen within the next months).

Well, that was kinda expected considering it got the survivor pass in Jump and the newer series still need more material, but... 2024? Like really, they expect YozaFam, which is basically at the bottom list, and right now it's in the same situation as UU (which is on the ending streak), still running that long to give it a boost that late?

It's not really at the bottom regularly, usually it ranks near the middle and has solid sales.
I do agree with you that this anime comes rather late (blame COVID for that) and that the manga will very likely end in 2023, but that's more because the story is about to wrap up, not because it's not doing well enough. It would need a lot of successful new series for THAT to happen, and with the latest batch I am not exactly confident.

It ain't even COVID to blame, it's just Silver Link schedule is really tight at this point with already 7 (8 if we count CONNECT, which is basically become one with SL) different series announced to just next year, with at least two (three with CONNECT) of them being adaptations of Jump/Jump series+.

Well, that is where I agree for sure, Jump is having quite trouble with the new series, and the bracket only gets increasing with other "old-timers" getting out very soon, like Mashle, UU (and most likely MHA, though it can prolong depending of how Hori stretches it out). Still does not give a lot about YozaFam survivability, it just mostly stuck there in Jump because the newcomers got even worse, and now it's just holding the place in the holy trinity of low-midcarders with UU and HSF that just escaping the axe because there are always others to place their heads instead.

Damn, Silver Link huh. So that's what they've been cooking. The Hokkaido Gal anime has been announced to be by Silver Link too, so hoping these next series they have will bring them out of the financial mud, they are a good studio.

It's always relative to the rest of the lineup and series like YozaFam have existed and survived as decent mid-tier successes in almost every generation. The series is above UU, PPPPPP (which only survived because of an Ado-shaped miracle) and obviously HSF (which srsly survived way longer than it deserved... Should've already been axed instead of the vastly superior Magu-chan, if not for nepotism) but below Witch Watch, The Elusive Samurai and the still growing Akane Banashi, making it almost dead center of the mag.

I was just reading the latest volume today and wondering of it would get an anime adaptation soon. But wow...2024?! Still, if it wraps up by then, maybe the anime will adapt the complete story.
