That's an interesting description of golf and its players, thanks.

Here a player's mistake won't cost them a single point or end a match outright, but instead every extra stroke is carried with them for the rest of the match. There is nothing more humbling in all of sports than to be ahead in a golf game, having to tack on a few extra strokes because of a dumb mistake, and then, maybe becuause your opponent saw weakness and played their best hole of the match, you suddenly find yourself down one or more strokes with a finite number of opportunities to catch up.
This tracks with how I've felt sometimes in minigolf and Wii Golf lol. I'm curious if pros ever do golf-like activities or if it ruins their conditioning.

I was not expecting to enjoy this one anywhere as much as I did. Though that mostly came from the dynamic from Eve and Aoi.

While this opening succeeds in immediately grabbing viewers with any fondness for the ridiculous, it also makes clear how much this show cares about getting the ins and outs of golf right—it doesn't, like, at all.

Which is what I loved best about it. Anime smile I keep describing this series as a golf anime that isn't about golf hardly at all. But it's wonderful.

Thanks for the perspective Lucas. Birdie Wing has room for all of us in it's fandom, from golf-lovers, to fans of steampunk prosthetic arms to elite golfers tucked in their clubhouse, nestled under Mt. Fuji. And Yuri sports nime fans. Anime smile

As someone who saw half a dozen kids ejected from high school golf practice for wearing jeans instead of khakis, my eye twitched every time Eve took the course while dressed like a valley girl on a summer vacay to Big Bear.

Hahaha god yes, she’s the coolest, even more of a rebel than I realized. Thank you for this piece of information. It makes her combat outfit in the last episode even better.
