They haven't done much since the late 90's outside of Mahjong and Pachinko games. As well as a few mobile and virtual console games a little later on.

Sounds like they are moving back into originial console game development again now though.

I remember thier Batman, Blaster Master, and Fester's Quest games. They made a lot of nice stuff with some good music back in the day

I'm floored. Shocked I thought for sure that the company either folded or got absorbed into some other corporate entity.

SUNSOFT games were everyone's jam during the 8-bit era! Blaster Master, Batman and Journey to Silius, to name a few, were great (yet tough!) games that had amazing music scores that pushed chip tune capabilities back then.

For SUNSOFT to emerge from hiding and getting back into game development for consoles again intrigues me. I am cautiously optimistic on what they will provide to the new era and I'm hoping the games will be fun to play (albeit with some difficulty tweaks) and have amazing scores that were reminiscent of the company's heyday.

I guess they're now licensing stuff? I recall their recent Blaster Master Zero games were outsourced to Inti Creates and those weren't bad.

I wonder if they're doing in-house production again. Considering the current market, they have a decent chance.

I hope whatever they are working on is better than Blaster Master: Overdrive.
