It’s nice to see mainstream American artiest showing their love for anime for a change. I really hope a bunch of people on this site don’t start calling this a big rip off by Kanye West. I really hate it when people star bagging on stuff like this just because some big time star is behind it.

Kanye is an Anime fan eh? Didn't expect that.
It pretty un-subtle that its based off Akira. |

He couldn't possibly feign the influence like Disney did with Kimba. Kinda annoyed that he's still referring to it as "Japanimation", though.
ikillchicken: If he did music for the Boondocks, it'd be hard to believe he didn't at least know about anime. Oh, and thanks for giving us a legal venue for seeing it without making us feel like we're pirates, just we caught it on YouTube. |

GATSU: well obviously I didn't know that. Im not saying theres never been any kinda indication of this before or w/e. Just I personally hadnt ever heard anything about him and Anime so now I'm suprised when I learn he's an Anime fan.

I like anime and love rap music. I also like the song Stronger and the music video. It is now one of the many inspirations in my mind today.
You know, After I saw the video, I was thinking of a Transformers music video with that song (only problem is is that clips from trailers will have to be used since the movie isn't on VHS or DVD, yet. Last edited by Riyousha on Sun Jul 08, 2007 11:51 pm; edited 3 times in total |

what a horrid track =(
i like the general idea they were attempting with the video......but having the hoochies in it and kanye's acting pretty much tanks it. |

Ditto. It's too bad that the video is lame.

Not too bad...and I don't really like rap that much.
All in all, Kanye is just one of the few rappers that I actually don't mind, because his music isn't like...well it ain't like the kinda stuff 50 cent raps about <_<. |

I'm not really much of a Kanye West fan, but that's pretty cool to see celebrities showing that they like anime. I remember hearing somewhere that he was an anime fan, but I wouldn't have expected him to have an anime-inspired video. That video probably could've been a little better, but it was still kinda cool. I wonder how many of his fans will know it's inspired by Akira though.

Why do you think that this article is up then? I think it's okay, could've used a better track to go by, but it's nice (though I don't like him) to know that at least we have some anime fandom among US celebrities. |

I personally inquire, that Kayne West started to watch anime in the early 90's to the mid 90's. This is the vocab of the early 90's fan.

Having Kanye in anything usually tanks it. Case in point. |

I'll take West over Diddy and even Ja Rule.
