Not surprised as is tradition for Zelda fans. Wonder if Pokémon will be their lone Holiday game unless you count Xenoblade 3 in September.

This was to be expected considering that we haven't heard any news about the game for some time but a part of me was hoping that the game would arrive by the end of this year, though I suppose that Pokémon Scarlet & Violet will be the Switch's big title for the holiday season. At least this means that the development team will have more time to polish certain aspects of BotW 2, hope that they have taken into account some of the players feedback, maybe they could incorporate some elements from Elden Ring (though I doubt since ER just came out recently and the Zelda team only said that they were inspired by Read Dead Redemption 2 for the BotW sequel)

Pokémon will definitely be their big holiday title, Xenoblade 3 will proably do okay but its appeal is more limited. However, due to the animated Mario movie coming in December perhaps Nintendo will announce a videogame tie-in, kinda of what Sony did with the Ratchet & Clank movie game

Ah sucks, Elden Ring has no decent contender left for GotY this year.

Also, hopefully Starfield turns out to be good, because I have no faith in Xenoblade and Pokémon.

I don't have a problem with this. As long as the game it's good, Nintendo can take all the time it needs. Shigeru Miyamoto stated that delayed games have the potential to be good, they just need to strike while the iron is still hot.

Too early to say that. There's still the following games targeting this year:

Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
Forspoken
Starfield
Gotham Knights
Hogwarts Legacy
Sonic Frontiers
Bayonetta 3
God of War: Ragnarok
System Shock

Well, whatever the developers feel is best to help make the game as great as possible.

Ha! Judging by how the Game Awards usually does things, of those, the only one that can possibly stand a chance with Elden Ring is God of War. Its between those two this year, and that's IF God of War doesn't get delayed. If it does -nothing will stop Elden Ring.
