I'd love to see Matsumoto in IMAX, but it ain't gonna make money in the U.S. About the only thing of his which probably did well here is Interstella, and that's more likely due to Daft Punk than him.

When my two hobbies of anime and paleontology come together, the results are never pretty (okay, that one Marimite episode where Eriko went around proclaiming herself a Hypsilophodon was an exception...). Somehow I'm not getting good vibes from a Galaxy Express 999 film called "The Extinction of the Dinosaurs."

Of course, the last few attempts at applying 3D animation to Leiji Matsumoto anime haven't exactly instilled confidence in that idea, either.

And then there's the fact that the last attempt at a Galaxy Express 999 anime was never really finished...just ended up being a random movie prelude for a series that never happened.

Call me crazy, but I'm not feeling too good about this project.

The whole educational thing is throwing me off. Though it could be good, I won't trust it till I see it.

Sweet! I don't know about the whole educational thing but GE999 is one of my all-time favorite movies (+ the other series that go with it) sooo here's to hoping it will be good.

Sounds cool - wish I lived in Japan...

Well, at least there is an iMAX theater down the road from me (well ok its a small trip - but its local at least). They have shown a few anime shows there before, but I never hear about them until AFTER they have been shown. Bites. They need to advertise these things better.
