Never thought I would see an article on RPG Maker Horror on here! Especially glad you got vgperson for the interview. She is just so SO integral to the community! I think this article also has some good timing considering that Ib and Forest of Drizzling Rain get a remake soon.
I'm also very happy that a lot of more recent games are mentioned here like End Roll, Witch's Heart, and You Turn to Die. RPG Maker Horror did in fact not die out when big Youtubes stopped paying attention to them after Ib and Witch's House were popular! I sometimes see weird takes on Twitter about how games like them aren't a thing anymore when they absolutely are lol. A lot of games come out every year and I can't wait until I can play even more once I know enough Japanese.
btw End Roll is absolutely fantastic and I deeply adore it. There is just something special about its dark prose and hopelessness. I never thought I would like a silent protagonist so much. Witch's Heart is also a series that is now over 25 hours long and has its first conclusion finished (all for free). If you like complex characters and can deal with a very strong story focus then you will love Witch's Heart.

So that's what she's been up to, I haven't really heard from her since her vocaloid days. vgperson and Coleena Wu were two of the most prolific vocaloid translators of their time <3

I love RPG Maker horror games. Ever since discovering HetaOni by Tomoyoshi when I was 14 I’ve loved them, some of my favorites are Deep-Sea Prisoner’s games, OFF and Omori.
There’s also Doll Eye by Twisted Doctor that I’m excited for, I’ve already fallen in love with Mystery.

My favorite has got to be Faraway Story. So I'm glad it got a mention at the end at least!
It's cool that ANN did an interview with VGPerson, she's done a lot for RM gamers and developers with her translations.

I've played most games she translated. Hard to say which one is my favorite. Maybe Touhou-A-Live?

Lol.
There was a special live-streaming event for the game's sixth anniversary this past summer...and it was revealed that Sanada-sensei...is a woman!!
Angels of Death is the only RPG Maker horror game I've played....(really, I was quite unaware of them and I got into the series through its manga first, actually). The game is rather challenging; getting past Zack alone took me a good 30 tries!!! Little mofo moves so fast. xD The game is also set up like a maze and it's hard to find the right way to go....
But I do recommend it. Fourteen bucks for the Switch.
