Cause, ya know, GOD FORBID the Samurai Champloo repeats have time cut into it.
Not that I care but seriously AS, why cut the intros and ending short? Commercials, right? Something like that?
I have to ask, with other animes, Inuyasha, Blood+, etc, you at LEAST show the entire intro or the entire ending. Why can't ya do that for Eureka seveN?
Oh well, it's done with showing, please put eva repeats back on, I'd rather watch that than Samurai Champloo for the thousandth time... Or S-Cry-Ed for all I care, just mix it up please.

The other thing that bugs me about it is that they added the OP and ED when the episode originally had none, and because of that, they cut out more content.
It really seems to me like the people over at [as] don't even watch their own anime, or they would have realized how dumb what they did was. If anyone else was on the adult swim message boards last night, it was a mess (albeit a mildly hilarious one) as a result.
Ah, well. I'd drink to a formal apology, but know [as] doesn't care that much and/or they'll end up just having a bump that makes fun of its anime fans for being "too uptight" or something. *sigh*

I was wondering why the ending was so weird.

Well at least there was a chance to catch the entire online, hopefully [AS] will put that final episode online for a little bit longer so more fans can see it.

I actually want to pass the buck on this (in a sense) and put the blame on Bandai. They're the ones that keep presenting stuff with condensed beginnings and endings. It may not be Adult Swim's fault for following orders.
As an aside, I don't think any amount of added footage would make E7's last episode any less lackluster, especially compared to other BONES series. Reminding me of G-Gundam's ending didn't really help, either.

What's funny is that I posted about this on Adult Swim's forum minutes after it happened. Never expected it to make frontpage on ANN, though.
Like Mello says, the blame should probly be directed at Bandai, seeing how Adult Swim just airs what they Bandai sends them (at least that's how it was with FUNi and FMA). Gotta stick up for my fav anime, though. Wish I could watch it for the first time again.....

unfortunately, I think I'm gonna have to agree with you on that one. I felt that the ending to Eureka Seven lacked in so many areas, it was kind of a disappointment. it felt rushed and unfinished, even with the epilogue. I was hoping to atleast see what happened to people like Anemone and Dominic, as well as the crew of the Gekko (and, personally, I wanted to see if Talho and Holland were going to have a boy or a girl )

Dominic and Anemone show up in the epilogue.
Also, i for one feel like episode 48 gave us a conclusive end to the Anemone/Dominic side of things. But perhaps that's just me...

I never really cared for this show but this comes as no surprise to me. I mean it's not the first time something like this happened, Wolf Rain comes to mind right away.

I thought the last episode seemed a little too short. -_-
Now that I think about it though, it really isn't much of a surprise, considering AS seems to have a bias towards running mecha-related anime in bad time slots. I'm amazed they play them at all versus retread live-action shows or more 15-minute "comedies". Hell, I'm amazed they even play anime period anymore (I remember all too well what the G4tv higher ups thought of anime).

Anybody remember when AS was supposed to air the last episode of Big O, but screwed up and aired an earlier episode instead? I know this instance isn't the same, but perhaps if there's enough hoopla about it, AS will re-air the episode intact next week.
Yeah, I know it's probably wishfull thinking.
At least I can take solice that I will be able to see the full ending on the DVD. Albeit will be a year from now.

Well, you know, AS has to run it's adds for it's crapp ATHF movie. Really, ATHF is just old now. Probably should've died back when Sealab did.

Just the tip of the iceberg for why people hate watching Anime on TV - just stop with the editing already and show the stuff either as aired or uncut - one or the other.
