I am so excited to hear about this re-release. I've wanted to pick it up for my niece, but it's been fairly expensive used nowadays. So glad it's been made available once again.

This is so great! Mermaid Saga, along with Sailor Moon, Battle Angel Alita, Guyver, Video Girl Ai and others were among the first manga I ever read at my public library in the early 2000's. I think I read the rest of this series as fan scanlations around 8-9 years ago.

So, this volume must be about half the series, right?

Yep. Includes nine of sixteen chapters. Covers the first two of the "Mermaid Saga" volumes Viz released in 2004.

OK, so if this is the 1st volume (of 2), then has Viz given any indication as to when they plan to release the 2nd volume? I would rather buy both at once ─ not separately.

Yep! Viz has a release calendar on their website for the current and following three months. Volume 2 should come out February 16.
