an then slowly youtube started to go up in flames and everyone cried in horror.

But in my opinion this guy along with already dubbed anime/on the shelves being put up is what people need to go after.

Not the AMVs or fansubs of Bleach episode 222 while they're on episode 5 here.

Youtube needs to get rid of all illegal content. Then it'll be left with nothing but homemade videos of idiocy and the truth will come out.

/IMO, the only reason it's popular is because of all the illegal content that's so easily accessible compared to other means.

How would someone get their hands on UN-AIRED versions of 24 or The Simpsons?

Could it be that Fox is looking for a traitor in their midst?

That's probably the last time they'll get that many people watching the show, especially after the movie. Rolling Eyes

Exactly. What I can't imagine is how someone thought that they could possibly get away with this.

Hahaha! Hmm...I don't know, I hope that youtube stays the same[this is a bad bad comment] I'm always watching Littlekuriboh's dubs "the abriged series" and to be honest, sometimes I watch random anime opening themes on youtube so I can see if it's[opening theme] good or not before I buy its dvd.Although before I do that, I do some re-search first on how good the series really is[I've learned my lesson, buying random anime dvds on best buy is risky. Some that I've bought have horrible VA.] Laughing

The DVDs were released almost immediately after the episodes aired. This means retailers needed to have the DVDs ready for sale -- so the leak most likely occured in retail shipments, which took place BEFORE the airing date.

Getting youtube to give out your private info really doesn't do jack. All you need for a youtube account is your email adress, zip code (which no one knows if it's made up or not?), and country.
Then for yahoo email (just using yahoo as an example), it asks for your name, but who knows if that is made up or not? You could just put John Smith.

And unless they go IP address hunting, they can't get any info on you.

Well, I'd heard it was a leaked press copy in the case of 24, but I don't really care enough to look into where it came from. The first 4 episodes were leaked over a week before the first episode was aired at all, so a leak from a shipment seems unlikely.

Anyway, I'm sure this whole youtube thing is an attempt at a deterrent or something, but all it will do is stop people using youtube and they'll start using something else. There are already plenty of copycat websites desperate to fill youtubes shoes. And more to the point, anyone with half a brain and an eye for quality will be downloading bittorrents anyway, except for people with real slow connections, so perhaps we could see this as discrimination against the poor? Wink I'd guess the youtube guy downloaded the torrents, wanted to get a bunch of easy hits on his videos on youtube so whacked them up there, so FOX wont get any closer to discovering their leak or dealing with the origins of any of this.

There are plenty of outlets of illegal material on the internet, youtube is just the most prolific and idiot proof.

It's kinda like a bandaid trying to cover a gaping axe wound. I suppose they've gotta do something though...

I like youtube to watch anime parodies and sorts, and sometimes if I want to watch some anime trailers or something. Especially parodies, like LittleKuriboh's videos, I fear everyday they will be removed. Although they do violate liscensing laws, it's not something you can buy at the local video store.
