Ah yes, the ComicFesta series of short-form hentai. I'm a little surprised that they're finally getting the legal streaming treatment, but hey, whatever excuse is needed for a site like this to finally cover it outside of the news column.

The only series from this niche line of productions that I've seen was 2017's Skirt no Naka wa Kedamono Deshita, the second ever of these to see release in Japan. I watched it partly out of curiosity towards it being the showrunner debut for the technical director of my favorite Samurai Champloo episode, and partly for reasons regarding this forum's general thoughts on the closest English word the anime fandom has to "otokonoko". I personally found it pretty "eh" for its subject matter, but it wasn't anything terrible or anger-inducing. At least, it didn't induce my terror and/or anger. I'd imagine it did something right, considering Noshitani and Magic Bus have worked on several of the entries that followed since, so if anything, there's definitely an audience for it.

If stuff like this can be made, then I would hope for something that can actually appeal to me(Muscular woman x younger feminine male).

But that would be asking too much...

It's kind of hilarious that even in the outright hentai anime series, the men still don't get to have nipples.

Was about to comment on that. Just looking at the thumbnail, I can't even find it attractive because I'm too busy being distracted by the lack of nipples. I bet if I watched these shows, I wouldn't even find them sexy because I'd just be thinking about how these poor men all had their nipples stolen.

Who needs male nipples when you have such engaging and lush plots......and fully developed characters.....and.....and I got nothing. Maybe someone should start a protest. #SaveTheMipple (male nipple..mipple...I'll stop now)

I am curious what would happen with the yaoi market, if there was actually more Actually decent Male x Female hentai/Ecchi aimed at ladies?

I mean yes there is the otome market but aside from stuff done by reject, most otome follows the otomate format. where everything is really quite tame and never has much actual or any for lack of a better term ecchi/hentai content in them.

I mean the other exception is nitro plus chiral. Who really became a market leader for releasing unique and meaty 18+ yaoi content with some quality to it. if someone actually did a hentai adaption of one of their titles things might end up a bit more interesting.

What I find interesting, it's that the "Plot" of an stalking/possessive guy going after a girl it's universal.

50 Shades of Gray, Twilight and 365 come to mind, the only difference is that their manga counterparts tent to flesh more the girls' personality by giving her.... well, an actual personality, the Pres is a Maid and Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun come to mind.

Of course, all of this stalking/possessiveness is perfectly fine because the guy is handsome and rich, otherwise it would be creepy.

The content it's the same no matter the continent, scentially, the plot is about giving the girls a "Broken guy to fix with love", I suppose it both plays with the wish of girls to "get their hearts race" (whatever the hell that means) and their natural motherly instincts.

That being said, I have no idea of what the obsession with huge hands on yaoi comes from.

I agree. Even Tiger & Bunny had male nipples and especially for series that focus on physical appeal, it's hard to buy the no-nipples rule. Rolling Eyes

There's plenty of smutty m/f manga aimed at women to be had out there at least, it just almost never gets licensed in English. (Seven Seas got that sexy fireman manga for its Ghost Ship line after the anime was announced but nearly everything else I've seen is limited to Renta.) I can't speak to quality because it's not really something I know a whole lot about aside from it existing, but I expect there's some good stuff in there just from a numbers perspective.

I don't think that it has a huge impact on the jpn bl market now, nor that it would have a huge impact on the eng market if more of it was licensed - many bl fans like bl for reasons that wouldn't translate well to reading m/f erotica, even if they might also be into those works for other reasons.

It's been a long time since this has been the case and all, but I just can't get used to the lack of nipples in some anime especially when they've got obvious sexual indices.
What is the point of showing characters shirtless if you end up having to alter that person's biology for the sake of perhaps not trying to offend. I legit prefer when some random mascot character pops up to subtly cover up some indecent parts.

There are a lot of theories about this - and a whole raft of academic studies in the 1980s and 90s - with most scholars laying the blame squarely on Kathleen Woodiweiss' 1978 novel Shanna. (I'd argue that it goes back to Beauty and the Beast and possibly Little Red Riding Hood.) It is a trend that's more niche now in western romance fiction, though; the last decade or so has seen a rise in stories where the hero and heroine are equals and he's not a predator. Basically it's become a subgenre that gets a lot of press because it is niche these days, with many romance readers referring to it as "Old School" (or Old Skool) because it's seen as dated. Here, that is.

Although having read Seven Seas' release of the fireman one, it's more in line with more modern contemporary romances than the Old School stuff. There's consent involved, at least, though I'm not sure if that carries over to the anime. (And if it doesn't, that's a whole academic paper right there!)

I think nothing would happen with the market, considering for a fudanshi like me or for my fudanshi of fujoshi friends, for all of us BL is just the hottest snack. The fact good straight stuff also does or does not exist doesnt matter. BL cute, BL hot, we like. Gay jay.

And OMG nitro plus chiral is LIFE! DRAMAtical murder is absolutely my fav. BL visual novel ever, and I played over 10. I have Aoba's infamous D-figure on my fudanshi trash computer desk, and I LOVE HIM!
