I'm getting a lot of Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 vibes from this, and I absolutely LOVED TM8.0. Here's hoping this one turns out good as well! I was kinda meh on Devilman Crybaby, I haven't seen Eizouken or Lu Over The Wall yet, and I absolutely ADORE Ride Your Wave. It's understandable that they left out the detail of the Olympics in the show, as they got delayed, so it was inevitable, really.

Yuasa is a workaholic. Good for us, though. His anime are always worth watching.

It seems like the story will be different from the Japan Sinks manga I've read despite both being adapted from the same novel. (They have entirely different characters.)
Now I'm really curious to know more about the novel.

Based on the wording in the article, this looks no more to be in Netflix jail than Devilman Crybaby or any other anime first streamed on Netflix. While the displeasure with how Netflix releases shows that were originally broadcast on TV in Japan is understandable, it’s not really relevant to the shows that are first released on their platform worldwide.

There is an English translation, but it's abridged.

I've not been a big Yuasa fan, but I did enjoy Eizouken very much. Hope I have the same reaction to this show.
