Aniplex likes to price their anime at around $6 per episode - I spend around $2K a year on anime, and $6 is about 2x more than I'm willing to pay.

Add in the fact they've lazily released it without a dub, and this is a big NOPE for me.

Aniplex is the largest reason why I stopped buying home releases. My bluray collection is fairly big, but ever since Aniplex started licensing literally everything, I just no longer have any interest anymore. And this spills over into products from other companies as well. They just spoiled the entire thing for me.

I'm more into light novels now.

I mean, you have to try really, really hard to dissuade someone from collecting something they enjoy collecting. But Aniplex makes it look easy.

No dubbed and $200 for 24 episodes ($8.33/episode). Aniplex is crazy!

I wonder about their revenue goals/targets? I highly doubt that their hitting them. Their strategy will never work in America.

I thought about buying this BD set. Then I saw the price. My jaw dropped.
No thanks.

They have been using the same business model for over 6 years and it seems to be working.

Actually it’s 36 episodes, 20 for first season, 12 for second season and 4 OVAs. But yes, it’s still quite high for a show that should be released like this years ago.

I'm not a big fan of Aniplex's prices either and I've never bought any of their releases because of it but Funimation still has the most anime licenses, even more so after the Crunchyroll split. I think there's only like two Aniplex shows this season; Darwin's Game and the Madoka spin off.

Not missing out on anything. This series has been dead to me ever since the disappointing manga ending.

Agreed, although the outcome was obvious from episode / chapter 1, I was hoping the author would make a plot twist.
