First off great review the manga seems very interesting, and more importantly may enhance the anime a bit if the second manga helps expand the character gaps.

Key I am fairly intrigued with these manga, I really enjoyed the Heian arc in Otogi Zoshi (I really hate Modern Fiction to be blunt) and so I am wanting to expand my knowledge on this series. But I have to ask does vol 2 of the manga make the jump into Modern Fiction or is going to stay in Heian period? I am not sure if you know yet but does the manga show any signs that it's will remain in Heian period? Thanks
Till next time,

Delta Kiral

Haven't heard anything yet about the second volume, but this volume is pretty clearly the first part of a two-part story arc so I'd assume it stays with the Heian Era material.

Best new I've heard all day (Stupid 3 day suits messing up my jacket Evil or Very Mad) looks like I might get the first volume then. I really really enjoyed Heian era of Otogi Zoshi, and basically despised those last three dvds; for reason I won't go into here.
Till next time,
