Socrates in Love novel was licensed by Viz as well. I believe the novel released around the same time as the manga, and I assume it is also out of print as well.

I have the novel, but I really don't think it's as good as the hype makes it out to be. It was cute, but it was just another generic guy falls in love with sick girl story that's been done to death thousands of times before.
