I get that Tatsuki wants to prove his talent after what Kadokawa did to him but sleep is not optional. That he hasn't been to his apartment in the last year is horrible and he is going to end up dying young if he lives at the production studio. Now that Kemurikusa is finished hopefully he will take a break.

What Kimura saw was Tatsuki "bragging" about the situation... see why he is "bullied"?
Tatsuki knows that this is not healthy and is not happy with the situation and many people told him to rest (myself included the very day Kemurikusa finished). But we have to understood the situation he was in. Remember he talking about not being paid for his work on Kemono Friends 1? Now that Kemurikusa is making a profit (Vol1 BD it's in first place on Oricon for the second week) and Irodori own the rights he (and the team) will be able to relax and rest. |

Shame that ANN did not include the part about why Kimura did that tweet, basically Kimura liked a tweet dissing the praises Tatsuki is getting for not returning to his home, then he unliked it once people found out, then re-liked it and made a tweet about it once he found out that it had been screenshotted where he tried to spin his image around by talking about how it's bad to overwork yourself, but in the end he's still calling Tatsuki a braggart, only to be met with replies of people digging up old tweets of him bragging about sleeping at the office.
http://kemono-friendsch.com/archives/81350 So yeah, the shots backfired spectacularly thank to his own hypocrisy, cynicism and jealousy, basically this guy is his own worst enemy, he should give up on social media like Mine Yoshizaki if he does not want to tarnish even further his own reputation and carrier. Besides, Tatsuki was not bragging about overworking, he was only sharing little insights about his life with his fans, people already know well enough since 2017 that he is a irremediable and very passionate workaholic creator a la Osamu Tezuka, so those tweets were received with shock, but also with relief. And yeah, the fans want to see more works from him, but at the same time they do not want to see him being a victim of karoshi or following the steps of Satoshi Kon or Osamu Tezuka with an early death. He is still young, he is only 30-ish, so maybe he will put the brakes when he becomes older. |

I heard some say that he was sleeping on Isa's home, but didn't found the source. You know if this is true? |

There have been multiple studies showing that overwork, specifically when people start giving up sleep, has drastically diminishing returns even past just putting in an extra ten hours a week. It’s a very, very short term solution for a long term mismanagment problem, and humans have not evolved to the point where we can “store” sleep, so your body can’t exactly make up for lost sleep without trying to get in extra hours of snooze time somewhere. Also I hate this idea that passion and workaholism go hand in hand. The “holic” part of the word isn’t a cute pet name, it’s describing an actual addictive problem. And the idea that you have to work yourself to death to make something great is so factually incorrect that it’s just depressing. People make great art in spite of horrific work overloads, not because of them. |

I think the concern is that Tatsuki might not live long enough to change if he continues to live full time at the production studio. To spend every day and night at work puts a strain on his body that might not be visible on the outside but is likely wearing him down on the inside. Japanese culture has many admirable qualities but the work ethic issue is often taken to an extreme that leads to tragedy. |

Nah, that is only a joke started on 4chan based on a lewd fanart posted on Twitter by the ero mangaka Mudou Eichi of TatsuOni* and Neko-nee-san* of Hentatsu* making out on the bed, so people with a very black humor started that joke. That is the same sort of joke like the Oimo (whole roasted sweet potato) based on the shape of the hair of Rin, joke acknowledged as funny by Tatsuki on his Twitter account, although I see it more like a crab claw but whatever or that Tatsuki is a very dedicated assman based on the ass shots on the PPP dance or that the big ass of Rin was the only thing clearly visible on the draft of the first key visual of Kemurikusa made public on Comiket 93. *TatsuOni is the character that represents Tatsuki on Hentatsu *Neko-nee-san is the character that represent Isa on Hentatsu. *Hentatsu is basically a slice-of-life short series reporting about the lives of the irodori group. Everyone Yes, I know is pretty bad to overwork and that there is even studies stating that we should work less than the reglementary 8 hours per day/5 days per week/40 hours per week if we want to improve both health and productivity, but have in mind we are talking about Japan and the anime industry, that is, the country that is the the third economy on the world thanks to being rebuilt and then keep rolling over the shoulders of overworked salarymen or that the anime industry has been plagued by brutal amounts of overwork and pretty low wages since its current form was born at the beginning of the 60s, so yeah, we as fans and as fellow humans want for people like Tatsuki to have better working conditions, but that is basically a pipe dream on the current anime industry, so we can not think of magic solutions even if we are outsiders. Also the way Tatsuki works makes all the things worse, because he is not only the original creator, he is also the one handling the series composition, the direction, the script writing, the art design, the storyboards, the episode direction and both him and Isa are the ones handling the character design, modelling and editing, so he works more like a mangaka trying to do, control and oversee all the things he can with his partners at Yaoyorozu working sort of like assistants, so the amount of work he and his small and faithful team does is simply brutal. There is also those two anecdotes from this interview published when Kemono Friends First Season was still airing.
That interview is a gold mine if you want to understand the working style of Tatsuki and Yaoyorozu. Hopefully the harsh production of Kemurikusa is a big enough warning so they take a longer pre-production and production period for his next TV series so the health of the staff is not impacted badly. |

This I personally saw on Twitter. We'll never know for sure, 100%, but the possibly is high. I'm talking about Kimura and other people involved with Kemono Friends having a personal problem with Tatsuki, one that they still didn't overcome. Some locals investigated an account that was trash talking Tatsuki and found good evidence that it was created by one of the producers of this second season. As far as I know most of the people involved with that whole debacle went silent, except Kimura, still there giving sign... It's sad but after the sales ranking this week I can say we have a happy ending. |

Yup, I am already aware of those scandals and currently the situation is pretty hot. It is somewhat funny to see that to be part of the making of KemoFure you must hate Tatsuki and his legacy with all your heart, you have recently Kimura calling him a braggart although he was only informing his fans about his life, you have also one producer calling him a braggart on February although he was only joking with his fans and now you have the scandal around the very convincing connection of TV Tokyo Producer Hosoya with a very prolific anti-Tatsuki Twitter account and it seems there is also one more producer with his own anti-Tatsuki account. Also, they have tried to hit Kemono-friendsch several times, first you have some time back AGN stating the blog was violating their copyright because they were hosting screencaps of the anime, so they deleted all those images, so now the only images they host are images done by the fans like fanart, meanwhile you have irodorich from the same admin plastered with Kemurikusa screencaps and nobody bats an eye, because that is fair use and freedom of the press. Now that the blog is reporting about the scandals around KemoFure producers and staff as a whole, the admin has been hit several times, first the admin got emailed by a producer of AGN stating that they want to see him personally, then some days after someone tried to login unsuccessfully on the blog Twitter account and some hours after that the blog was down several hours victim of a DDoS attack, so all those three things happened after he began to report about the Hosoya scandal, same guy that is stil radio silent since the airing of the last episode of KF2. So what you have now is people investigating all they can and there is even some trying to start a lawsuit against the anti-Tatsuki account for defamation, so imagine the shit that would happen if Hosoya or somebody else from the KF2 staff if found by the law court to be personally involved with one of those anti-accounts. And yeah, Tatsuki is living happily because his new series was received with huge acclaim by his fans, so the attacks from the KF2 staff and the anti-Tatsuki people does not affect him in the slightest. If you find impressive that Kemurikusa broke the 10000 sales mark on its first two weeks, then you may be more surprised on the future, because the sales trend of the first Blu-ray volume of Kemurikusa is being similar to the sales trend of the first guidebook of Kemono Friends, guidebook that got at least 33292 copies sold after some time and there is still people trying to get that first Blu-ray volume and the current orders may be shipped as late as April 23, so there is the probability that Kemurikusa could top Manaria Friends on some weeks as the best seller of the season or even to go over the 20000 sales mark if the sales trend stay as strong as the first two weeks. |

I don't go to Irodorich for some time, I was actually not paying attention to the drama, so I didn't knew all these details, all the context. Is worse than I could have imagined. All this was so unnecessary. As a fan I wanted to see KF2 succeed, and if it "failed" that they at least tried. But instead...
Looks like it's true then, that the sales were underestimated but the manufacturer of the discs. Hope people will have the patience to wait for their copies. |
