I reread her Rowan of Rin books a few years back. I think they still hold up -- the series manages to keep a good focus on the theme of all the parts of the whole mattering, even the ones you think of as unimportant or useless.

I enjoyed her Deltora Quest series, the anime adaption was really good, too bad it's decently obscure.

Deltora Quest is one of the main reasons I adored the Fantasy genre growing up and I may have based a lot of my middle school “original content, don’t steal” stuff on its lore. It was the first book series I got really invested in and I was even hyped when I found out there was an anime based on it. Congrats to the author!

I remember reading an inteview with her once where they discussed why she chose to have Deltora Quest made as an anime, when other companies from around the world had been pitching for the rights. She revealed that she consulted with her children and their friends who told her anime was way cooler. That clinched it.

Congrats to her. Loved the anime, felt like it was a good adaptation.

Congrats to Emily Rodda! I reread the Deltora books in 2017, and they still hold up as a children's fantasy series. Good to see fantasy authors get recognized for their works

Deltora Quest is a very good anime. I still remember rushing to the TV when I got home from school to watch it on The Hub (R.I.P.).
I've never read any of the books; should get around to that sometime.

You should. They're not too long, and lots of fun. After the original Deltora Quest series, there are two other shorter series with Lief, Barda and Jasmine, plus a sequel series set a few years later (which was jjust published a few years ago).

You can also get them in really nice hardcover omnibus editions. *has all 5 books sitting nicely on her shelf*
