So the game barely outlives the anime...

The Android version has mixed reviews and installs in the 5000+ range. It's very likely it was making next to no money at all.

They should have made the show better - it was promising, but seemed to peter out (I dropped it).

Is this a mobage record for the fastest service shut down? Obviously, being multimedia is not always a good idea if each medium does not have some quality and effort. The anime was good for cute girls and yuri selfcest. Everything else is lame, with that deceased little brother being an absolute waste of space and time. This is a wake-up call for series who want to go or are already multimedia, such as Toji no Miko and Release the Spyce.

The game started service after the anime, actually. So that wouldn't be "new" players. Just players.

The game will have an update on January 31, after which time those interested can still play a "standalone" version of the game.

Oh really. I would see if I can give it a try if possible, assuming if I can find the game as I can't seem to find it on the DMM website.

On another note I wonder if the fact the anime has ended has to do with the service ending.

Possibly, but I consider Kemono Friends's game to be a even sadder situation since it was shutdown before the anime began airing.

Between Kemono Friends, this, and Princess Principal, anime tie-ins for mobile games don't have a good track record at keeping the games alive.

Only the smartphone version will become standalone, DMM version will not

Oh! Well it looks like I might not be able to give it a try then, or second thought I could when I think about it. I would just have get access to the Japanese app store.

Oh really!? I enjoy the show as well and it's nice to see someone who also enjoy this anime, but you seem like it more then I do. What was it about The Girl in Twilight that makes it anime of the year for you?
