As a long-time IG fan, I was curious, how does this app thing make a profit for them? For an app that last this long and now expands globally, there gotta be some money making tricks, right?

The app is listed with in-app purchases for credits, so I assume there are free episodes and then you have to buy the rest with credits?

Are you kidding me? Yesterday (!!) I changed the region of my app store to Japan, which was quite a hassle and cannot be undone in the next 365 days, to access the app (also since I’m living in Japan right now). But oh well...

Do you know comico? It works the same way. The first episode(s) are usually free, while new episodes are free for a certain period of time (e.g. 1 week), but apart from that, you have to pay a certain amount of credits (1 credit = 1 yen in Japan, with bonus credits obtained when you buy a lot at once).

Prices are like this:
- 1 short episode (1-2 minutes) = 18 credits (e.g. 15-sai, Kyou kara Dousei Hajimemasu.)
- 1 short episode (4-7 minues) = 37 credits (e.g. Kodoku no Gourmet)
- 1 normal episode (25 minutes) = 270 credits (e.g. Attack on Titan)

Though the numbers may differ from show to show. But that’s basically how it works.

Emulation should work.
